Did anyone see the report on trans people on "60 Minutes" on Sunday? They interviewed several people who detransitioned, or at least decided not to proceed further, and those people sounded to me like they had gender or bodily dysmorphia and should never have had any permanent treatments.
This is why many people recommend living as the desired gender for at least a year before doing anything permanent!

I don't even think this particular person is necessarily insane but the number of parents posting to these trans groups who have kids under 14 WHO ARE NOT EVEN IN THERAPY but are on hormones is crazy.
The desire to transition is almost always a symptom of a deeper issue. Many regretful transitioners point out how disappointed they are when their lives don’t magically change for the better once the surgery is complete.
I believe it often comes from depression, a feeling of being trapped in a particular circumstance from which there is no clear way out. One of the most insidious things about depression is it’s tendency to rob sufferers of the ability to commit to a course of action necessary to defeat it. It’s why transgenderism is so closely associated with suicidal ideation- like suicide, it’s a symptom of depression.
So you find these deeply unhappy people who lack the strength of will needed to tackle the roots of their depression, they are socially isolated (sometimes due to depression; sometimes the depression is due to the isolation). They fixate on changing their lives because they know changes are necessary, but at the same time they crave acceptance and connection, yet they can’t manifest the changes they need in their own life.
Enter transgenderism. For a small but significant number of these people, it seems like a magic cure. Instant community and social connection; emotional validation and support; and a zero-effort transformation from sad undesirable loser to ravishing sexy Amazon. This is why so many of them are ‘translesbians’; they’re literally still heterosexual men under all the bullshit.
Problem is, at the end of the day, their problems don’t magically disappear when they transition. They’re still treating the symptoms of depression not the causes.
The best thing anyone can do for a straight man or boy wanting to transition is to ask them some really hard questions about why they feel they want to change, and how do they think transitioning will make their lives better. At the bottom of it, overwhelmingly, you will find someone that feels that they have no control over the path of their life and is seeking to control that by the easy path of taking hormones and dressing like a faggot.
Ask them what professional aspirations they have and map out a path for them to achieve them. Assure them you’ll be there to keep them focused and support them to achieve those goals. Help them take back their dignity. Show them that depression is the cause of their trans ideation, rather than the other way around. The majority of pre-troons would likely cease their troonery if they had love and support from their friends and family to attack their depression instead of trying to transform their way away from it.

They forgot to mention that we always amputated the right hand of the people who were more comfortable with their left hand.
But lefties can actually do things well when using their true hand.
God, this bs comic again. The analogy purely does not work. Basically anybody can learn to be ambidextrous if they commit to it, meaning that you are not "forced" to write with the hand you are most comfortable with, and become comfortable with both hands. So, are you saying that you don't have to transition if you make this argument?
It's bullshit because "dysphoria" has become broadened to mean any sort of discomfort. If you're socially anxious about the changes in appearance due to puberty or enjoying something traditionally reserved for the other sex, that's dysphoria. By that standard, most teenagers would be dysphoric. And since this is Twitter we're talking about, the only remedy is immediate transition and uncritical affirmation from everyone else.
