Is Alt-Right/neo-fascism actually gone now that Trump is? - Opinions on "fascism" scare

Lolno. "Fascism" is an interesting historical footnote that's become the political equivalent of the wastebasket genus. Giovanni Gentile pioneered a community-centric form of the system that has little to nothing in common with Nazism. So for as long as people refuse to read more than headlines and get MOTI, "alt-right neo-fascism" will continue to exist

I'm curious, now that Trump is gone do you think that fascists/alt-right will disappear, or that they will continue to try to be influential.

Trump ended up being a figure head for the so-called "alt-right", but if there was any real possibility of "fascist takeover", it wouldn't predicate solely on Trump losing a lawful election, now would it?
Unironic, non-LARP fascists died with Mussolini (or Otto Strasser if you believe National Socialism = Fascism).

The appearance of Fascism is predicated by several conditions:
1. Government in the hands of a socialist party
2. High unemployment in the laboring class
3. Organized political violence/lawlessness
4. A large population of disaffected soldiers
5. Socialists/Conservatives being pressed or openly attacked by communist elements.
6. Most importantly, a charismatic leader willing to partner with established power-holders until such time as he can force them to cede power to his political organization

Fascism as a sociopolitical force with an iota of strength and/or credibility hasn't been a thing for quite some time now. The term "alt-right" is a deliberately nebulous snarlword that translates roughly to "anyone I don't like/who disagrees with me" when uttered by someone on the left end and translates to "I'm a fucking moron please rape my face" when uttered by anyone else.

Protip, accepting your opposition's labels when making those labels stick to you is a major victory condition for them (because it helps them destroy you or otherwise render you irrelevant) is fucking retarded.

No it's actually much worse now, the overton window has been utterly shat on at this point, Trump is no longer in control and most have lost respect for him, the alt-right knows that if they don't do something soon things are going to get much worse for them, likewise the left realises that if they take their boot off their necks even for a second shit will hit the fan

According to Wikipedia, the term "alt-right" was coined by Richard Spencer (white nationalist) himself, from a blog called Alternative Right:

In 2010, the American white nationalist Richard B. Spencer launched The Alternative Right webzine

The amount of brazen, willing ignorance you have to have to act like the Overton window isn't a thing is pretty laughable, really.
What the heck do you mean?

It's not going away anytime soon. People can ignore it as much as they want, but you can't defeat ideas.
So you can't "defeat ideas" like Communism then?

"The alt-right" as we know it, is pretty much dying of not dead already. However, Trump's "populism" will never fucking go away, it will just find a new form and it's here to stay until America falls. I hope some of the more moderate/reluctant Trump supporters would form some sort of non-autistic, socially right-wing, and economically center-left/progressive political front. Now that is a political movement I can get behind.

Oh yeah the man who's a certifiable useful idiot and foil propped up and publicized into relevancy by people who claim to hate him, that sure is a great person to accept a label from

I don't think the alt right knows what exactly alt right is anymore
How could they? It was always a borderline meaningless term. It both subscribes to an increasingly obsolete left-right paradigm and claims to subvert it by pulling the political equivalent of saying "I'm not like the other girls!" It's deliberately confusing and nebulous doublespeak snarlword bullshit that washes away any trace of nuance or meaning in an effluence of contradictory horseshit.

We can put a green check mark next to 3, 5, and soon 2. 6 is far from unimaginable. Also, I don't think number 1 is actually necessary at all. Italy was by no means in the hands of the socialists when the king made Mussolini PM. 4 seems like the biggest hurdle currently, although if the Biden admin starts a war with Iran, we may see the ranks of disaffected ex-soldiers from Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere swell significantly.

And a big factor everyone is ignoring is what a massive blow this last election has been to a very large portion of the public's confidence and trust in the American political system. Getting rid of Trump didn't make fascism less likely. Quite the opposite.

I don't think the alt right knows what exactly alt right is anymore
That implies anyone ever did.

Fascism died in 1945

Communism was mortally wounded in 1991 but somehow revived itself in the West around the early 2010's, most likely because they made good useful idiots for the neoliberals who prop them up.

Christian theocracy died out by the time of Napoleon but theocrats were propped up by neoconservatives in the late 20th Century here in the United States, albeit largely on a regional level. And it was for the same reasons as the neoliberals' support of the commies.

Now the dominant order is corporatism and globalism.

Fascism is just everything that doesn't toe the party line. So if you're a TV watching twitter addict and a retard fascism will always be an existential threat, much like the global warming you want to stop by eating bugs and not having children
To a moron, "fascism" just means anything you don't like - same with idiots repeating outdated 19th century anti-intellectual nonsense from Thomas Malthus in regards to "global warming" and the snake oil salesmen (e.x. Bill Nye and other liars and charlatans who would be out of business if the average American or European read more than a HS level book a year, or anything, "scientifically" or otherwise - above the pitiful 6th grade reading level or was even able to define science in the modern, outdated Francis Baconian/inductive sense to begin with - more or less rendered outdated and obsolete via the Information Age by new Computational and Informational sciences - beyond superstitious, illiterate allegories which they were touraged and taught by rote at whatever pitiful level of comprehension was intended for their paltry little intellects) and "green" branded corporations who prey on the stupidity, superstition and illiteracy of the average media viewer in regard to profiting off of escatological GW alarmism and the affiliated conspiracy theories which enable the peddling thereof.

Outside of those insignificant ilk, fascism is a specific type of totalitarian ideology with ways of defining it, not just a buzzword for anything a worthless idiot dislikes.
