I've realized that nothing on the internet can be safely discussed without idiots anymore.

Think of any pop culture thing you like. A movie, a TV show, video game, sports team or toy property. Now think of the internet discussion forums for any of of these things. Is anything free of morons?

I used to be really active on Transformers boards. You cannot post on a Transformers forum today without every third post being:

"hay guise i thnk optius prme is teh strngest autoonot what do u guys thnk?"

No movie, no matter how loved, is free from IMDB posts of:

"This was totally the worst movie evrr I was sooo bored".

Twitter has given voice to the every teenager in America, and the "Public Shaming" site is perfectly demonstrative of why most of them should never be allowed near a computer.

No cartoon is safe, because a Google search will yield drawings of the characters fucking.

No sports team's message boards/FB page are free of:

"yall are teh gaye fagits were bettr thn yuo fags"

Is there anything, ANYTHING that stupid people don't have access to? Remember when the internet required basic cognitive skills to access? Jeez, even AOL chat rooms in the '90s required SOME sort of a brain, the idiots were not NEARLY as plentiful as what exploded forth by the mid 2000's.

I hope this doesn't come across as a get-off-my lawn kind of thing, but I'm hoping some people here get what I'm saying. The post about "Sperg Prime" yesterday day got me thinking about how the internet has given every stupid person a voice now that it's so accessible. And the thing is, everyone thinks that they're so important, that every YouTube rant by some three-toothed moron is being viewed by millions of people and that they're actually intelligent. (Y'know, kind of how OPL was convinced he had a billion fans.)

Tell me I'm makin' some sense here. :pickle:

Well, there's The Adventures of Sam. It's pretty obscure, so it doesn't have much of a fandom. No rule 34 fanart either.

I guarantee someone has already written an Adventures of Sam/Jayce & The Wheeled Warriors/Vitor/MLP/Felix The Cat slash.

As long as anyone can post on the Internet, there will be spergs for everything.

I agree with ya trombonista. Whether its a fandom for a popular kids cartoon like My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic or an old video-game like Fallout, there is always going to be a sperg. All you can do is get irritated from the spergy things they post or laugh when they get butthurt whether its the series trying something new or some fan-related thing gets C&D. Only other thing you can do is ignore it.

I don't think Rock and Rule is well known enough to have spergs obsessive over it

I have decided that Lovecraftian fiction is the one fandom which is free and safe from the taint of spergs, due to the lack of affirmation and pandering to their "feelz" which spergs feed upon like ticks in other fandoms, the uh... "political incorrectness" of Lovecraft himself (see his nigger poem for reference) which keeps away the SJW types, the utter lack of characters who can be easily be twisted into a sperg's personal wish fulfilment mary sue, and the dark uncertainty and nihilistic hopelessness that permeates the genre of cosmic horror which is far to unnerving and uncomfortable for the average pampered sperg used to having clear cut good/evil conflict in which good always wins.

I'm not really sure if sports fandom is really "sperging" or maybe it's sperging but I don't recognize it because it's so socially acceptable for people to obsess over their favorite sports team.

Actually, you hit the nail on the head right there. While you'll get funny looks for having wall scrolls coating your room and anime figures on the surface of every object, people are praised for pretty much doing the same with their favorite teams. Sports are more socially accepted to obsess over either because it's an area thing that people are proud of, or because people will come to the conclusion that you like playing sports as much as watching them. Albeit, you'll still get funny looks, but people will try to be more understanding about it because it's something they're interested in as well.

Speaking of sports, for this Premier League season, there seems to be a high rise of "THIS COULD BE OUR SEASON!!!11ONE" sperg-related comments.
