Is Chris "getting better"? -

For many, Chris is the lolcow, the one who started it all. Indeed, this place was the former "CWCki Forums" and the only reason we existed.

But save for a few incidents, is Chris (very) slowly becoming more and more..."normal"? I mean, yeah, he's gone full tranny and maced a dude, but he's had the following crucial milestones and all this decade:

• Had sex. Granted, he had to buy a hooker, but even that's a big step for him as it requires trace amounts of street smarts.
• Sneaks out behind Barb's back to go to the gay club. He's meeting people, making friends.
• He's happy with himself. If you read the Autism Papers, he was on an antidepressant ten years ago, so he certainly had his share of depression.
• He's not engaging the trolls.
• It's getting pretty damn hard in general to find something truly goofy he does. For a while, we've just had the occasional Facebook post where he complains about something trivial, and quite frankly, that's what a lot of people do with Facebook now. I laughed more at the Facebook of the redneck bail bondsman who raided the Sheriff's house in Arizona than I did at Chris's.

I'm inclined to think that letting himself become a giant weirdo and meeting other people who are tolerant of that has made a big difference in his life, although you'll still see that genuine autism come out in the form of Sonic's blue arms. What do you think?

I would say Chris is pretty much more social compared with the old classic days of him filming videos in his room, considering he posts regularly on Facebook, and this year he's been active in social events such as attending conventions and parties.

So yeah, he's pretty much improved compared with the classic days.

No, he hasn't matured at all. The only step towards progress he has made is ceasing the production of videos. His autism blinds or deadens his sense of shame, social awareness and dulls the notion of what is acceptable, therefore he feels as if he can render his will unto the world at large without any major repercussions. He isn't a recovering individual with social anxiety, he's an autistic individual who changed his stomping ground.


Edit- in regards to making people and meeting friends at the gay bar, he is only accomplishing this by taking advantage (unwittingly) of the patrons' reluctance to be mean or outcast somebody. The people there do not genuinely enjoy his presence in a way which would quantify a friendship, they tolerate it out of pity or a desire to be viewed as the person who is nice to the retard.

Yes and no. Chris' own standards are ludicrously low, so anything that isn't rock bottom is "better". He's happier than he's been in previous years, he's (relatively) more social, but his life as a whole is a lot more unorthodox and bizarre than it was back in the YouTube/trollin' days.

-Jace-tier conspiracy theory about some old guy and his grandson breeding and releasing a snake to the Hoard in an attempt to assassinate the Chandlers
- Making videos (one about Catherine, the other one being a random rant about a Shovel Mech Pilot)
- Crime (shoplifting and the Infamous Macing Incident)

The current lull in content is imo just the Calm before the Storm.

Chris will always be a goof. Her autism and the way she was raised has made sure of that. But as I said in the con thread, Chris is kinda like a dog. In that she needs stimulation. She needs things to do. A dog that is not played with or taken on walks becomes an unstable animal, prone to destruction, mischief and aggression. Same applies to Chris. If Chris is stimulated by social activity, she's not going to be as self destructive. She's still going to step in potholes on the way due to her lack of self awareness and that she's about as socially sharp as a log. But she's not going to be as virgin filled with rage as she used to be.

Only in the most superficial sense. He's been more sociable and productive of late, but keep in mind that he's not even a year removed from macing someone for no reason, whining endlessly about changes to Sonic's design, and all but molesting Catherine when they actually met (yeah, troll girlfriend or whatever - point is, Chris believed she was real).

He's still a bratty, immature child but at least he has a social life. For now. I'm pretty sure he will find a way to screw this current situation up too.

He's improving his social interractions, sure; but not really getting any better. He's still deluded about a lot of thing, so much so that they alter the way he lives his life.
To me, it has more to do with society finally bending to Chris' ideals, so comparatively, he seems to be doing better.

So, something to remember, is that during the trolling, the trolls were behind virtually everything Chris publicly did. Chris is very unfunny on his own. Chris does not regularly interact with people on the internet on his own. At best he broadcasts to people, like he does now, and even then, he just posts clickbait and advertisements for his solidly profitable internet venture.

If you do not strongly hold Chris online, he slides off and does IRL stuff. IRL stuff that we won't, and we currently aren't, hearing about.

For the foreseeable future, we're just going to be getting things like the bellydancing or omegacon. We'll get to post "haha, Chris went out and enjoyed himself and looked like a tard doing it! lol!" Which is pretty boring to me.

In terms of his mental state, no. Since Bob has died he really hasn't been getting any motivation to make money other than "My mom wants me to pay the bills." but yet he still doesn't show any signs of maturing by blowing all of his medallion money on LEGOs. Like I guess in terms of a social life he's doing better because he's going out more, but that's only if you compare it to when Chris chan trolling was in it's prime (2008-2009) and by that time he was a complete shut in.

Chris has plateaued. He's currently functioning at his highest possible level (very low) in terms of dealing with social anxiety and not hurting people. Short of therapy, and I mean real psychotherapy and real counseling, this is the maximum optimum for Chris. And since our little angel only does the bare minimum unless it's some exercise in masturbatory wish fulfillment ("I'M A DANCING PONY GIRL!") we're not going to see him get better in a meaningful way. He's still batshit insane.

It doesn't justify it, but people also shouldn't take it as an informative example of normal Chris behavior. All we learn from his bad behavior on the Catie date is that Chris doesn't know how to behave on a date. Which is not very useful knowledge, considering Chris will never go on a non-troll date.

I don't know, I really wouldn't pay attention to the "lashing out" part. Chris always, always runs away. Like, unless he somehow replaces the pepper spray with something else he can point-and-shoot, all we'll get is an occasional running away situation like the gamestop was. Just sans mace.

In fact, he made a bit of a joke and actually gave them(us) a bit of a backhanded compliment (...when they mean love and kindness).

He's improving himself in small ways which is good, I don't know if it's upcoming court case which is making Chris think twice about any public outbursts or anti-social behavior though but we haven't seen Chris talk about getting banned from stores for a while.

It's also nice to see he's worked out a way to make money from his infamy although the amiibos he buys to make into Sonichu characters seem quite expensive so hopefully he sells them all and isn't left with a bunch but the medal, pictures and signature were a good idea though, he might be able to make more with his comic if people knew it was a thing that actually will get make, at the moment it seems more like a donation button.

The main thing in his life which I don't think has improved is his social skills which is sad but I think he could improve them if he really tried and had the right help.

I don't know if Chris is actually "getting" better, he still shows his massive Ego here and there and, as a lot of people have alredy said, he maced a Gamestop employee not too long ago.

But he certainly is more positive about gonig out and socializing right now, and i think that can only be good for him.
