I was reading the Iwaspoisoned.com thread and I got to thinking... how many of these things pop up over the course of a year? We have weens leaving "reviews" for McD's, Target, Wal-Mart, Game Place... and those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. And they do it on Google, Yelp, and other fairly well-read sites.

I have to wonder if the establishments are taking them seriously? Not that I wonder if McD's is worried about the bad press, but is this happening often enough that these businesses at least expect to see these rants connected to their name? I remember when I worked retail, we went over EVERY SINGLE ONLINE COMMENT. Good, bad, indifferent... we read them all. I wonder how many of these places are constantly coming up with fake Chris reviews (and they might not even know they're fake). Does some manager scroll through this week's feedback and say "Ok, here's THIS ASSHOLE again..." *sigh*

On this forum, we tend to forget that the rest of the world, even the world geographically close to Chris, doesn't see him as the fascinating poopy unicorn that we do. However, if he's both frequenting your store AND ween trolls keep bringing him up for all your staff to see... I just wonder how much Chris ends up being a part of their day-to-day planning.

Depends how often he goes there. If he goes often enough, yeah sure. Especially if he has a specific order he gets each time or if he acts out regularly. Basically like any customer.

I was more interested in the online comments. Something like CURSE-YE-HA-ME-HA and "austistc hating" would stand out in a list of reviews, if a store manager saw that come up more than once, they'd probably start to wonder.

He's most certainly known by Wal-Mart and the Game Place as the asshat that causes problems for other people in the store, but its also possible that the local McDonald's knows him simply as a regular, if odd, customer.

If Chris goes to any places that we don't know about, bann would be sure to happen, and he would whine and moan about it on Facebook.

Mike Snyder may be active in some business groups in the area and may have told the other business owners his experiences with Chris, so Chris's reputation may precede him.

I think someone local, PureEvel, said they knew about Chris for years. Again, Chris's reputation may precede him.

Apologies for misunderstanding. I guess that it depends on how often there are comments. Also I think the size of a company plays a factor. For example I doubt the managers of a local McDonald's is going to go over every yelp review. Now a smaller business like Snyder's Gameplace may check these things more often.

Since most of the reactions are from big business type places I doubt they would recognize his name.

My apologies as well. I should have communicated that better.

Ruckersvillian has seen Chris at least a few times, hope she chimes in here. But yeah, agreed with OP.

If these businesses get these types of comments and read them, I'm sure they'll wonder about it but not much.
It must seem to them like a random nonsensical comment on the internet.
Im sure we've all experienced these, we are reading an article or something, then we read the comments and, someone on the comments writes some weird stuff and we just go "...wat?" and scroll past it.

Back in his pretrolling days the manager from target knew about his walmart (or was it the mall) exploits. In a small town like that word travels fast espically about a local crossdressing tard that is soliciting for sex

Local businesses probably know him as "that weird guy". Depending on the area, you sort of notice them if they're around enough, at least that's been my experience. If we wrote a review about them, they'd probably know who he was right off the bat.

I imagine that the McD's and Burger Kings would know him. I think Bob was a regular customer at Burger King's before his passing?

Yeah, see, I don't know about that. I think Chris is the type of person that I'd think about for a moment but quickly forget about. I see lots of people I'd describe as weird, but generally they really need to crank up the strangeness to really stick in your mind. They have to do something really crazy to get me to remember them. People generally overestimate how strange a bum might be.

Chris has a lot of weird things, but nothing to get someone to remember him. I don't think he's wearing too much explicit tomgirl clothing nowadays or anything like that. There are the few places he's been banned from, I guess. Walmart and a mcdonalds or two. And hell, even with those places, Chris isn't this clever, but, if Chris was a bit less :stupid: , he could probably sneak in there when the person who banned him wasn't working and successfully patronize those places.

I agree with you here, to a point. If he went to say, Walmart, and didn't cause a fuss, the chances of there being noticed would be slight, and if he were noticed, most likely he would just be asked to leave.

BUT

All it would take was a manager having a bad day or bearing a grudge to report him for trespassing. With his criminal background this could end up being quite serious for him.

AND

The places he has been banned from are places he frequents. If he were going once, he would most likely be fine, but if he started going back, he would be there a lot, and the chances of him being busted eventually would go up considerably.

All in all, if I were advising Chris in his best interest, I would suggest he respect the bans. The chances might be slight, but the stakes are big, and he would be repeating the gamble a lot. And, as you say, this is all presuming he were able to consistently do it without raising a fuss. He has not been able to manage this all the time Christorically, and I am not confident he could do it again.

If he is known in areas that he frequents then businesses might know him whether he has used their services or not, word of mouth in an area like that can surely spread.'

But bigger businesses he could easily walk in and out since different people work at different times and its hard for everyone to remember who is banned and who isn't. But seeing how Chris sticks out like a sore thumb, well... you know.

Oh yeah, no, I was just making a point about how actually enforcing a ban like that isn't really that practical to pull off. Really, Chris should just find stores to replace the purposes those places serve in his life.
