On social media there are so many genderspecials and made up sexual orientations vying for a gold medal at the Oppression Olympics. It all feels cultish and I hope that like with every other social trend it passes into dust and future generations will laugh hysterically at it. But maybe I'm being too optimistic.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately, and it's something I intend to ask more questions about.

I'm not a history buff, so I'm sure there's proper terminology I'm missing, but it strikes me as similar to the way that communists still portray themselves as "revolutionaries" decades after they've assumed full control with no opposition anymore. Everything is a "struggle against the man" despite them BEING the man.

I don't know what to describe it as other than a culture of compulsive lying. They know full well that they're not oppressed. They know full well that they have the safest positions in the entire world, and I know this because they exercise that power constantly by getting their political enemy's lives destroyed simply by sending one tweet to the right place.

Nationalism implies some kind of nation, which implies people of that nation, whom of which benefit from the nation. "What is good for the nation is good for the people and what is good for the people is good for the nation"
Gender and LGBT is basically saying rather than doing whats good for the people, what must be done is whats good for the <3% of people who are classified as LGBT.
Nationalism at some level involves advocating for yourself, your family, your people, while lgbt is advocating for others 97% of the time. Its a way to keep people from using democracy to benefit themselves and being complacent when it doesn't benefit them.
