The 'trad wife' thing has always been a middle class fantasy. It's massively unrealistic at this juncture, and has been for most people, for a while.

Not just monetarily, but also socially, the 'trad wife' does in fact need a 'trad man'. You need to be able to be the 1950's man if you want your 1950's wife. Most men aren't like that in the slightest now. Nostalgia is fun, but like wanking it's just sad when you do it too much.

"Grooming" doesn't even have to involve a minor. The story you tell isn't inherently alarming because it is a 30yo and a 20yo although ten years is a big gap in that case especially if the 20yo is still in college/dependant on parents (10yrs could be fine if the parties are significantly older than this though.) It's a question of not just maturity but life situation, creeping on someone who doesn't even pay bills yet is definitely creeping every time.

when people want to marry, they ideally want someone to not only provide for any offspring, but to love and respect them as an equal partner, and in some instances with an older party and younger party being together means that the respect can turn unequal. Its just human nature, we gravitate towards people that make us feel comfortable and relate too, and the only ones I've known who legit date men with substainal age gaps, are those who have severe daddy issues and haven't gotten over them. We base are idea of relationships with our parents, and part of not having a dad for most of your life is you seek to fill that void else where in unhealthy means. I only didn;t have a dad in my teen years because he fucked off to be a troon on his dying wife, and have learned that men who are over anal about control in the household, can and will fuck off when times get tough. So as a result I abhor significant age gap relationships, because look at my parents, only ten years apart, and he still ran like a boy when times got tough, and left me to be the only care taker of my mom who was young and beautiful and when she met him, and haggard and bitter in poverty up to her death.

Trad marriages where the man is the sole provider and the woman is the housekeeper, and traditional gender roles and values can fail and its not femenist propaganda to say it. The answer isn't to dismiss criticism of significant age gap relationships, as MUH FEMINISM, but to understand human nature. It's not right but "all's fair in love and war". Having a younger partner is actually pretty well documented to increase a couple's happiness for a while. I don't want to see a 13 year old getting creeped on by an adult but a 16+ partner is pretty well accepted throughout the western world and age gaps are nothing unusual even in an 18+ context.
