Sure. I don't think violence is a remedy until it's a self defense situation and all other choices are exhausted. At that point I feel you've given enough leeway any amount of force is justifed.

I've been hit by a woman and it sucks a lot of pride out of you I could have broken bones etc with a single strike and im not saying that like I'm super badass. I just mean my options were walk away restrain or take a hit of pride to possible serious injury.

Thankfully the sting on her hand from my face woke her up to A he can beat me to a pulp B I could go to jail C I just gave this person who houses me a reason to leave me homeless. I didn't even need to raise my voice to deescalate.

But if I had to defend myself no different. When violence is your only option use lots imho.

If she's actively trying to hurt you, even after your best efforts to restrain and calm her down without hurting her, she can just deal with being smacked around a bit. This goes for anyone really.
