On the whole, the community here does seem more mature than other places - I think the philosophy of "anyone can be a lolcow - even you" (imagine a finger pointing out from the screen) leads to a fair bit of self-policing, and the practice of allowing mockery of others on the board who veer into the 'tism category lead to a lot less open stupidity - and hopefully, some self-reflection.
