Is there a "Right side" or "Wrong side" of history?

They're experiancing the wrong side of history via the visigoths who are in that moment enjoying the right side of history.
It's just a lazy intellectual shortcut for people who can't understand how nothing is certain. Lazy historians mistook events panning out as they did as somehow inevitable and this flawed line of reasoning translated into the plebs thinking were on some magic journey towards star trek because we are marginely less horrible to each other these days.

Depends on the standards set wherever you're reading said history. The concept of "right" and "wrong" can't possibly apply to the overall history of the world because so much happens concurrently and values differ so much across so many countries. Even countries who share similar roots will have wildly differing concepts of right and wrong, or even origin stories.
Pakistani history classes start their timeline at the conquest of Sindh by Muhammad bin Qasim in the 7th century AD. Indian history classes start off during the Vedic period and depending on whether or not the school is a religious one, they may start earlier with the Vedic myths of creation. Note how neither country starts off at the Indus Valley despite that being the international academic consensus. The Indus Valley predates the creation of the Vedas, and it predates the conquest of Sindh. Shared history forces both countries to attempt making amends with one another. It does not benefit either country to make peace when so much more money can be made demonising the other side.
Even in times when shared history is acknowledged, it can also be a point of contention as well. Pakistan glorifies the Mughals and the Delhi Sultanate whilst India is quick to point out how the Mauryans and the Guptas predated both of them and oversaw a much longer lasting golden age. The point of course is that the truth of the situation is far more complex, but that reality won't ever be the case so long as there's a reason to demonise the other side.
If that's the case for India and Pakistan, it stands to reason that this phenomena can be observed elsewhere. The countries that once formed Yugoslavia would definitely have plenty of reason to dilute their history with a narrative, as would Japan and China. Given these discrepancies, it stands to reason that there isn't a "right" or "wrong" side that applies to world history as a whole. It just "exists" and keeps going leaving us to interpret it.

No there isn't, right and wrong is a matter of perspective. Just like evil is a matter of perspective.

I really hate this kind of shit, especially recently with the relatively recent pull out from Afghanistan, where essentially liberals demanded that the US use their military might to enforce our cultural values onto another civilization, and completely lack the self awareness to see the comparisons to White Man’

The "right" and "wrong" is changing in times longer than you or I live, but reality is, the right part of history is what we know to be true and wrong isn't. You can spend all day explaining why X from 2500BCE is ok when it's really fucking not, and when shoe hits other foot they will.
History is super important and sadly so much is lost to bias from time it was recored, let alone how it's sold now.

It's interesting to see the effect that Modernization will have on the study of History. Leftists have this diamond-hard boner for erasing the past and starting at Year One, and now they've taken control over most of the Western world. You can't even have a historical drama without some problem-glasses producer inserting black people into eras of European history where they didn't belong. Within 50 years, every statue of every important historical Whyte Man will be torn down and replaced with a statue of some dusky drug addict who got plugged by a cop while twerking and tweaking in the street. Leftists have this magical thinking that tells them that they can literally remake the world in the image they want, as long as they create media that reinforces said image. They're now working overtime to obliterate anything that happened pre-Obama.
After the ensuing 1000 year Dark Age, our distant descendants are going to dig up media from this era and marvel at how wonderful and functional everything was, in the same way that people from medieval Europe dug up Roman ruins and marveled at how amazing and advanced they were.

History isn't about who's right, it's about who's left. In my more optimistic moods I hope the future will see contemporary right-wing and left-wing divide as foolish cults dancing on the same strings. The rest of the time I expect there will be just different personalities for idiots to make false idols of and the future will be just as stupid as the present.
