Is there any good alternatives to Archive.md? -

The issue I have with the site is the long wait time to archive something at points. It became an issue yesterday when I tried to archive a tweet, by the time it was archived the person privated their twitter account so the tweet was protected. https://archive.md/ovW8L I want to make sure that this kind of situation can be avoided in the future.

I guess people could argue screenshots can be manipulated.

Altough I agree taking a screenshot just in case is worth it, we never know if archive.md might shut down.

It's not exactly an argument when people were easily making fake trump tweet screenshots constantly when he was in office. Some of them were so good, it got hard to tell what was real and what was fake.

Which is my point, the archive is definitely real, the screenshot might not be.

From what I read on their website, one site of archives they mentionned, WebCitation.org, currently don't accept archiving requests.

Local archiving is even more prone to manipulation than screenshots as you have the HTML downloaded. Archiving websites act as a middle man between you and the website so you can't tamper with it.

The ideal would be to have some open-source archiving system that other people (like the Kiwi Farms) would self host, but talk is cheap.

Maybe IPFS, but I'm not sure if they changed it so when you add and pin it keeps a copy in the data directory. Other then that wget pretty good.
