Yes that IS canon, but sadly our reality is not. Our timeline broke off just before 9/11, we're currently in a sadist's fan fiction. The cannon timeline that left us behind continues the relative peace we saw in the 90's, and by 2021 we have full on space colonies, a cure for cancer, reverse aging...you name it.
