It feels dead on my side. A lot of smaller bloggers kinda just ditched it, especially folk who posted stuff which eventually got them banned or their account hidden from results.

Some moved to the assortment of tumblr clones that popped up after the ban like soup.io and 2mblr, but a lot of those actually died off due to lack of interest.

I think a lot of them are now chimping out on Twitter, making Twitter even more cancerous than it used to be.

The staff might as well be dead considering how lazy they are.

I remember back in the day if you reported someone for stealing your work you'd get a quick response in the same day. Now if someone does that you get an automatic "we read your report" email and they never write you back. They're so much more lazier now.
If you write them in the main report page to say someone stole your art they just tell you to fill out a form. The only thing they work on is shutting down posts that are too sexual, when they're not.

I certainly don't use tumblr as much as I used to, considering a great deal of the folks I followed left, accounts banned, or they just don't update anymore. It feels like it's dead. However, I know there's still a thriving community there, still lots of drama, and it's still shit in general. At this point, I'm only on there for the animal and nature imagery.

It's not dead now, but it will be soon.

I still see like 50+ posts a day from the five or so nature photography blogs I follow. Tumblr is still pretty widely used for art and photography sharing by anyone who doesn't make lewd content.

Also there's still a shit load of very active wacko communities on there but I usually ignore them. It may be less popular than it used to be, but it's not going to die naturally. The community is too invested and there's no real competition in the microblogging sphere that offers the features tumblr does (when they work, at least).
Agreed, Tumblr is what you make of it. If you get a ton of faggot SJW shit in your feed, that's on you

I'm barely on the site anymore. I tend to see reblogs from only the same five people nowadays. Only non-mutual I'm following that's still active is shiftythrifting. I was mostly using Tumblr for months to chat with an online friend. Eventually the friend told me to just message her on Discord. Tumblr chat always sucked anyway. Once I started IMing there my Tumblr activity took a huge nosedive.

I don't think it's dead just yet. Like LiveJournal, however, it's a shell of its former self. The site would've started declining with or without the porn ban, but the porn ban expedited it.

I primarily used tumblr for various fandoms I'm in. The most toxic sides of any fandom, (race bending, whining about racism/sexism, calling out "pedos") has been moved to twitter where it's mocked relentlessly. Crazies from tumblr are usually called tumblr refugees or pronouns.

A lot of the people I followed moved on to... well I can't necessarily call Twitter a greener pasture, but my point is that most left, didn't look back. I was solely there for fanart, and how a lot of the time, tumblr was rather lax on what could be and couldn't be posted. I occasionally go back, just to see if anything funny happens on my dashboard, but I noticed that a few explicit tumblr posts do leak through with no filter, no censorship, and straight up raunchy R18 NSFW gifs. In other words, that whole effort to rid of NSFW content was all for not as I keep seeing tits jiggling around every few posts. I think a few of the blogs were hijacked too.

The worst part about the tumblr refugees is that even the trolls who take down Nintendo fanart are on twitter too, and twitter also wont do anything about the obvious trolls (then again they're spreading to other sites too.)
