Part of the problem, at least that I see it, is that Israel is seen as "the good guys".
By Republicans in America and no one fucking else. The rest of the world still hates Israel and hates Jews.

Also, as pointed out, the reason so many are wary about Islamophobia IS the fear of another Holocaust.
That's also why people are wary about Muslims.

Jews were evil, they wanted to take over the world, they were the enemy of the world, and the only way to stop them was to wipe them out. This didn't start with Hitler.
Didn't end with him either, this is what Muslims still believe. Middle Eastern politicians still seriously quote The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

Just came across this video that's pretty great. During a U.N. Human Rights Council debate, a bunch of Arabic countries went off about Israel's "crimes against humanity" and its brutality/discrimination/extremism/etc. Then the executive director of UN Watch gave a speech that basically boils down to "Are you seriously going to take these countries seriously when they've not only ethnically cleansed Jews from their borders, but don't even uphold basic human rights for Muslims?"

All of these Arab countries need to shut the fuck up about human rights and Israel until they start treating their own citizens with basic dignity.

You know, calling Israel a bit brutal, criticising their methods of quelling dissent and questioning some of their more...outspoken politicians, would in fact be perfectly legitimate....

Were it not coming from countries even more brutal, more trigger happy and far more brutal to their own people than Israel could ever hope to be.
