Not sure how I feel about this besides saying sounds like someone 75 years ago
It's an unfortunate reality. The Ultra-Orthodox maintain a constant presence and they are an easy base to pander to. The left collapsed to the point beyond being a meme and the center can't get it together. This corruption case has polarized the public to Pro or Anti Bibi at any cost COVID helped Bibi close ranks

What exactly do the Ultra Orthodox have for foreign policy goals? Are they pro just annexing all of Palestine or are they going for lebensraum and taking over the arabs

That question is a frequent criticism of the Ultra-Orthodox, coincidentally. They don't really have a coherent foreign policy. The two UOPs are Shas and United Torah Judaism (UTJ). The (one of many) paradox(es) of Irsaeli politics is that these UOPs are Anti-Zionist. They unironically do not support the state of Israel as an entity and would theoretically support its abolishment. (Links because no one will believe me) The practicalities of that are obviously more complex. Their foreign policy would be, practically, Israel allowing settlement in the Palestinian territories and push Torah law on the public sector. Theoretically they would want Arab rule until the Messiah comes to establish a Torah monarchy.

The Israeli elections have gone full retard. The idea is that 10 completely different and contrasting parties will band together just so he won't be in the coalition is both insane and worse for the country than everything else.

Beautiful to see that they're going to have to do another election because they can't get their shit together.

Good morning, Kiwis
The results are mostly in! Let's see where we currently stand:

Bibi predictably received the most seats, but not enough for a coalition. Because the secular right and religious right are no longer willing to coalition together anymore (which is what caused this crisis)
, we may witness the fifth round of elections or the greatest crossover event in history - a Netanyahu/Abbas coalition

I hope Bibi wins again. That even when he is accused of being corrupt as hell, he still win.

He won, the media trying to frame it as a "Bibi coalition" loss, but his party got 1.5 times the mandate of the second party in line. The only question is whether the other parties will cut the bullshit and parlay to have a fucking government or it will be few more election cycle until they give in.

Welcome to the first second third fourth round of the Israeli elections!

I trust we've all gone out to vote and the election results should be coming in soon!
It's been a few months since we've last looked at our most favored nation, what happened in the last episode?

Benny Gantz, after assembling a coalition to Rival Bibi, was locked into a bitter struggle for the future of Eretz Israel. The alliance of Centrist, Center Right, and Anti-Bibi factions sought to strike while the beast was locked into an inevitable court battle. The leftist parties were fractured, Thanos snapped and turned to ash.

Gantz takes aim at the king, and disaster strikes! COVID-19 ravages the country, there is a shut down, war with neighboring factions seems inevitable. But there's no government to handle these mounting crises! That's when our boy comes in:

You see him, you know him. He's the man who didn't just steal our land, but he stole our heats.

Bibi and Gantz entered into a supremely unorthodox unity government, """promising""" to alternate the role of Prime Minister halfway through the term. There's only one problem with that. Israel has never finished a full PM's term without having new elections. So who gets the second half? Gantz, of course.

OH NO!

GANTZ'S COALITION FRACTURED!

HIS TIE TO FATE HAS BEEN SEVERED!

The coalition broke down and here we are with our fourth round of elections.

Why is this different?

Israel currently does not have a functioning government. They require a coalition of 61 (of 120) members of the Knesset to enter into a coalition. This is the fourth (and certainly not last) election to attempt to create a coalition. If (and when) a coalition fails to form this time there will be a fifth round of elections. So reserve your tickets early!

Where we currently stand:

  • Exit Polls open in 30 minutes
  • Bibi's Likud party projected slight favorite, but not projected to win an outright coalition
  • No coalitions projected
  • Bibi earns Arab support in coalition building in 5D chess move to counter Ultra-Orthodox and other political elements
  • Voter turnout way down

Why does such a tiny-ass country need so many seats in its parliament?

Also OP are you jewish? I got an extremely important religious question: why do kosher joints refuse to put cheese on the burgers? I seen you guys eating cheese so whats the excuse?

Most cheeses ain’t kosher. Think about it, all the cheese you’d put on a burger isn’t certified kosher
