Those censorship targets in the past made equally no sense, and it took no time at all to examine the situation and find the people behind them were acting with no logic or real rationality behind their actions. They never had anyone's best interests in mind. Saying they had some kind of logic to them is giving people the benefit of the doubt, something they do not deserve under any circumstance.
I blatantly disbelieve this. As far as I'm concerned nothing at all has changed. This is the human race I've always known and believed in. The only reason people think it was any different in the past is because they couldn't see it.
There's a reason I blame positive people for everything wrong with the world. I think as a whole everyone has given the benefit of the doubt one too many times. Far as I'm concerned this is a justly deserved outcome.

I agree. The Interet is smaller place than it used to be. Even worse, most of the people using it nowadays still don't get the Internet outside of social media and any mainstream websites.
I've never seen anyone complain about censorship outside Twitter and Facebook. Why do you have the need to talk politics and "censorable" topics in such a manner that it's a problem?

The behavior on reddit is a typical totalitarian ideology. It doesn't matter if your polite or not as long as you're in line with it and use the appropriate "newspeak".
Ideologies always start by those adhering to them policing what can and can't be said. Then those in the thick of it, so to speak, start to police those who are already leaning towards them. This goes on until they reach the edges of their circles from where it (more often than not) spreads towards other circles and infects them.
It doesn't matter if your word choice is polite or you go down on someone with the worst insults know to man and belittling them. All that matters is that you stay within the "newspeak" and don't use any words deemed inappropriate (like faggot or nigger). At first you may still find mild mannered people who may or may not really buy into the ideology but those will be constantly attacked by those buying who have fully assimilated into the ideology. You have to follow the manifest of the group for 100% or you're a traitor. In the end, most sane people leave at this point (if they can) or grow silent, which leaves the nasty, insane assholes to police and eat each other.
This is what happened in the Third Reich, in Soviet Russian and other totalitarian states. By taking over language they took over the minds of their subjects and managed to rally so many people behind their causes. It's a form of very subtle brainwashing.

It's an interesting read going into detail how the Nazis used language to their advantage. It can also be used on communists and I bet on the LGBT cultists as well since they use with the same framework.

It isn't "one of the few" places one can still espouse non Woke Nazi views unabashedly online without being summarily banned--it's the only such place left to my knowledge.
I have been banned on twitter more than 20 times (have never managed to last longer than three weeks and often less than three hours) despite first opening an account there only as recently as last November as well as from several history/military history forums, banned from reddit repeatedly and in short order, as well as from the comment sections of supposedly "conservative" blogs--the only reason I've never been banned on facebook is because I am not a goddamn faggot pining away for jr. high school i.e. I've never been on facebook.
Hell, a few weeks back I was banned from the only online forum/social type site I have been able to speak pretty freely on literally for years without getting banned: of all places navweaps.com's forums. Their Politics of War forum for years was advertised as "warning: very lightly moderated" and conservative thought reigned free (lots of ex military guys as you can imagine leaned conservative by and large though we certainly had hard lefties who weren't afraid to mix it up with us and who knew they had to engage us on the merits as their was no Jack Dorsey white knight waiting in the wings to protect their honor). Then out of the blue along came the inevitable faggot-ass SJW moderator "Sargon" who proceeded to toss out a third of the old timers--all the most interesting commentators yours truly included. Place is now completely dead nothing but faggot Canadians making faggot Canadian comments everyone else too terrified to gainsay them. And of course it's not just the POW forum that suffers: those Canadians are just as useless on the "battleship v. battleship" thread as they are everywhere else.
In sum: this is now the ONLY online platform I have even the slightest inclination to frequent that will have me! And a fine forum it is: I concur with everyone's observations regarding how based the interaction and the "clientele" is at this woefully misunderstood gem of a website. Just wish it weren't the only goddamn one left on Planet Earth.

It's interesting to me that a site set up to laugh at cows could be one of the better places for meaningful discussion.
I have a theory that the show "Seinfeld" is all about unspoken social rules and what happens when those rules are violated.
The cows on here violate unspoken social rules and that's why they are cows.
But the discussion tends to pick apart why these rules are in place, how exactly these cows misread these rules, laws versus social norms, different social norms in different parts of society, actual oppression versus the soft bigotry of low expectations, differing definitions of words, conflicts between different groups, and so forth.
Like I originally came here for the Canadian ball-waxing saga. Are TIMs female, making a penis a female organ? There's a genuine conflict in laws, definitions, and rights here. But there's a social rule in mainstream discourse that you can't attack someone else's self-declared identity, so these people are not challenged and one party (women) is essentially forfeiting their rights.
But having a mixed group including literal fascists on here creates a place where you can't assume that other Kiwis all share the same values. So there are different viewpoints about where people are fucking up. But there's also this idea that if someone is a cow, their identity is open for any line of attack that someone sees fit to sperg about. The discussion here is very sharpening. Like what does it even mean to claim an identity, and what happens when that identity starts to erode?
There's also a lot of brilliance in the site where trolls just don't get rewarded. I have ideas about this but nothing concrete. But a lot of other sites, you get the same fucking people endlessly shitting up the place. For some reason, most Kiwis are bright, have good insights, and don't fall into the hole of bickering.

This is what I was talking about. Neither of these websites have a tangible benefit to their use. In the case of Twitter I'd say its flat out detrimental to use such a website. There doesn't need to be a "free speech" alternative to Reddit, Twitter, Facebook, Tiktok, ect, because none of these websites have any reason to exist or be used in the first place.
With Twitter and Reddit you witness true Tyranny of the Majority. The most popular posts are made by those who are firebrands. Reddit especially has the most audacious Moderating I've come across, site is utterly worthless with the exception that helpful nerds use it to post how to fix software issues especially Linux.
Kiwifarms just uses the now old fashioned forum format, so all opinions are given equal weight. Just gotta be thankful that Null and the wider moderation team aren't a bunch of schizo assholes or this place would be a shithole like old Something Awful (which is shit for other reasons like still using decrepit code & ridiculous nickle & diming).
