The users here (myself included) seem to be a lot more intelligent and level-headed than everywhere else. It's refreshing to be able to have an open discussion free of bias or knee-jerk reactions. That's what I noticed at first, but the more I browsed, the more I read dumb things; however, I still think the Farms is far better than any other place I've joined. Too many trolls and shills at the Chans and sister sites, not enough freedom of speech on most other communities. (The same is true of Tumblr, but you're not going to make any friends or have a good time there because they can't take the slightest joke or criticism.) Also, it seems there isn't really anyone here who will call you a fag for having a degenerate hobby or characteristic as long as you are skilled at the written English language and contribute decently. Mods don't ban people for using slurs or cursing or having absurd points of view, no one seems to be on a moral high horse, people aren't threatening each other or in a constant state of war, members actually respect other members, people can take insults well, and in general the community is well balanced in pretty much all respects, and not necessary a massive echo chamber.
