Of course it is lol. I'm a weed smoker if i stopped cold turkey i'd go crazy, but god the pot community is embarrasing. But it's not the subject here i won't start.
It can be- but alcohol, objectively, is more addictive and has a higher rate of health complications. Every damning thing that you can say about pot also applies to booze, but not vice versa.
If you want to outlaw pot, then you should also advocate for a return of Prohibition and be pretty suspicious of caffeine, as well, if you want to take the pharmacological angle.
