I never got especially invested in the Deagle Nation, but now, one of the interesting angles to this triumph for me is that despite the fact that these comedians fooled an entire forum, no one in this thread seems to be especially angry. Shocked, yes, but not offended. While it's not clear what their objective was, apparently it wasn't to mock the type of people who follow lolcows. We weren't the target of their satire. Or if we were, they failed. It seems like it would take real finesse to fool this many people to this extent for this long, and not cause them to hate you. We're suckers and that's OK.

And given how classy @Spectator is, and the really good work she's doing, that's a pretty lame thing to say.

As for a "context" to what he says, something that mitigates it's overall tastelessness... I don't know that there is a whole lot... I suppose he must get pretty worked up when he gets into character and stuff, and maybe he was riffing/improvising, and just took it too far. Or maybe he just figured she was in league with Wu, and made a bad judgment call.

Still - Makes me wonder how many more bad jokes are out there, that Jace/Jan might need to apologize for...

If he'd been acting respectful towards her, it would've been completely out of character. No need to apologize for anything.

And that fight video, where everyone conveniently remained inside the frame... I never suspected anything. The videos, the livestreams, the phone calls... it was all very real to me.

Jace's military obsessions and fits of rage, Tyce's incredible stupidity, Gail's insanity, Eli's editing skills... it was all just too good to be true.

Congratulations to Jan and everyone else: to me, you are the greatest rusemasters in internet history.

I don't know what to think. I'd gone back and forth on whether Jace and the gang were real - Eli being Smiffy from the Bash Street Kids made flesh was almost the breaking point for me. It was just so much fun I wanted it to be real.

I hope Jace keeps on being Jace. I'd probably chip in some Patreon money to keep the show going. I just don't know yet if it'll be as entertaining as it was. (Heck, maybe it could take an interesting turn now there's no need to keep the ruse going, so they could do even crazier stuff than Tupacalypse.)

MDE doesn't give a shit about upsetting people in the name of their art, so don't expect any apologies too soon.

Also, for anyone else that still doubts this is an act, look into MDE & their brand of humor. They're pretty fucking retarded themselves & we know now that Jan was banned from a playground when he was nine for being too fucking autistic.

They're total jackasses, so I'm not really sure just how much real "acting" needed to be done. They sure were dedicated to their roles though, you would have to be so obsessed with it to keep it going. Again, Jan's autism probably helped here.

The only question I have now is whether MDE are now lolcows? Who the fuck spends this much time & effort tricking (read: entertaining) 300 people per stream? That's some pretty desparate attention whoring if you ask me.

This was the one that really made me wonder if it was a ruse, Eli was semi-professionally editing his videos, seemingly on a mobile phone, while wandering in the desert.

He could just have uploaded raw footage, but no, he had to add text overlays and crap. Sure he probably had his laptop in the backpack, but then what of his claim to actually be wandering lost, would anyone's first thought really be 'I must edit this video first', and what? he, a braindead stoner, then knew how to tether to the phone to upload the edited result?

But like everyone else, I convinced myself that it was plausible, somehow.

Actually worked. He selected the proper target audience to aim his content at, he didn't act like an asshole to his audience, and he seem to had genuine fun with it. He act like a fool but a fool you could like. True the joke may be on the audience but the important thing is the humor was not mean spirited. Although, I think these people are still lolcows for carrying it on dedicatedly for so long for such a relatively small audience.
