Out of curiosity, did Jace ever actually issue any death threats?

I'd only just found out about Jace recently after that video of him kicking his mother's Prius started circulating everywhere. When I'd first found him, many news sources had told me that he was an armed and dangerous gamergater who'd been driving to Brianna Wu's house in order to kill her. Later, I found out tat his arsenal consisted of airsoft guns and he had been driving to Brianna Wu's house in order to challenge her to a street race.

Even now, a lot of important context about how absurd Jace's character and his impotent threats are being skimped, and most of Jan's quotes are being selectively pulled from the Buzzfeed article which even the slightest amount of research quickly reveals was a farce. All for the sake of a more sensational story. So, yeah. I'm not too initiated to know much about the history of this whole thing, and everyone else seems to be doing a pretty goddamn terrible job of informing me.

He said he was going to drive up to her house in his mom's prius and climb up the roof of a building then jump on her and kill her assassin's creed style with a dull knife that had "semper fidelis" written on it.

also @six.four.systems please use archive.today and do not hotlink the real articles.

That Portland Press Herald article isn't nearly as bad as the other coverage (including the earlier Press Herald article). Like it actually seems to present the facts as not quite being known (such as not presenting Wu's claims as fact). My faith in journalism is ever so slightly restored.

As far as I remember, the Jace character only said he'd get Wu Assassin's Creed style. It pretty much would be a threat except it was done under a character that we can pretty much see as nothing more than that, especially since the video it was from had him say things like wolf spirit if I recall correctly.

From a legal perspective it makes no major difference: a clever prosecution can use the rest of the video to spin the narrative of a mentally unstable man.

Implies someone who lives on foodstamps can afford a better lawyer than a trust-fund baby with major victim bux.
So what's the end goal? To put someone on welfare into prison? For a clear and cut jest? Maybe if he's tried in the Republic of Crazy.
I just can't see any lawyer jumping to take Wu's case. Best case, she wins, get's no monetary reward, and makes him go the state run counseling if he is insane.

Worst case, she wastes money, time, her image and her reputation. But we know she doesn't really care about that stuff anyway.

To what end? If Jace/Jan is mentally unstable, his threats are probably less credible. Worst case, he might merit a psych eval.

If he is mentally stable, his threats might be taken seriously.

Are we talking about prosecution or just a lawsuit? Because those are different things.

You guys are extrapolating on my original post, I just was toying with the notion of if it hypothetically went to court, which I do not think it ever will.

And then Jan can just show the rest of the video and say "Hey I was acting, look, I'm completely lucid and serious right now.". It's pretty obvious Jan isn't Jace and any sane person can see the difference between the two.
