Meet Jack Grimes.

He is the executive director of the U.S. political party, the United Fascist Union, and was a presidential candidate for the 2000, 2004 and 2008 elections. His votes were minimal and his campaigns (unsurprisingly) were not successful.

Grimes' political party originally started as a white rights organization, but later eschewed its white separatist ideology sometime around 2000. His vision is to create a New Roman Empire over Earth, starting with the US. Once elected president, he claims that he will slowly change the political system from a democracy to a fascist government.

Here is an old Jerry Springer clip from 1997 showing the Grimester in action:

His Tripod website is still available:

Jack was described in the Jerry Springer clip as 'very high profile'. In those days, he was more prevalent in the newspapers, tabloids, etc. and was talked about on Usenet. Since about 2008, however, he has not been seen in the public eye after losing the election to Obama.

Jack reportedly went to school for acting in New York City, but ran out of money and after being homeless for a year, went and joined the Army. He is a Vietnam veteran, and upon returning from service, started the United Fascist Union. He got his GED in 1991 and became a stock broker sometime in the late 1980's or early 1990's. Given his background in acting, it wouldn't be surprising if he was doing this for his unique brand of amusement.

While there have been other bizarre third-party) political candidates in the past, Jack Grimes is perhaps one of the more (in)famous. This guy is either a joke or a brilliant troll. The fact that he has any followers of his movement at all is bewildering.
