I'm sure some of you have heard of/seen pictures the "Cooking with Jack Show," but if not, let me explain a bit. He has made his career, for the last seven plus years, doing a cooking show on YouTube. In this time he has become infamous for his inability to actually cook things, and his awful creations.

Here's a recent video where he tries to make pulled pork, note that the pork is completely raw at the end:

Here's him trying to make cookies and again, undercooking them:

Here's him biting into a raw burger:

And finally, here's a video from a few years ago where he made a terrifying aspic abomination and presented it as delicious:

So yeah, this guy gets spread around a lot as a part of people talking about bad chefs, but no one so far as beat him in terms of sheer incompetence in the kitchen, and he's been doing it for a very long time now with over 200k subs. I'm not sure if most of those are ironic or not since people call him out for his bad cooking but he hasn't changed since he started the show in 2007.

He appeared in an episode of West Texas Investor's Club—a show that is similar to Shark Tank, only in Texas—wherein he fails at business and cooking. He also starts crying and giving an overly-sentimental speech when the investors accuse him of coming in the show just for the publicity.

It is reality TV, so it should probably be taken with a grain of salt, though.

I have a pretty strong stomach but Jesus Christ that party cheese salad made me literally gag. Who would willingly eat something like that?

edit:
The last video recipe is disgusting as the infamous Simply Sarah's Macaroni salad.

Holy shit. I skimmed and couldn't make it past morbidly obese arms dumping a jar of mayo into a bowl of sugar. I can't stomach this shit. Forget spamming gore/porn, someone needs to just spam stills from these videos or photos of equally horrific food to get a real visceral reaction out of someone.

I got salmonella just from watching the video.
While the videos would give one salmonella, they may also kill ones appetite. As much as how part of cooking is trying out different ingredients and seasoning and the fact that some foods could look unappetizing to some, the food this guy makes really has one wonder if he even has any regrets eating under-cooked pork. That sort of thing is dangerous, right? Especially since pigs are omnivores that have parasites in them and such.

Trichinosis is really overrated these days. Almost nothing commercially available is going to have it.

Most cases of trichinosis now are from game animals.

There are of course a ton of other problems with uncooked or undercooked meat. Parasites just aren't a likely one.

He is TERRIBLE. That pulled pork was burned on the outside and raw on the inside. Only the top couple of layers actually pulled apart because they were just below the burned surface and thus had a decent amount of cooking.

Those cookies looked appalling. How can he call himself a chef? He used pre-made everything. It is NOT hard to make your own caramel, it is pretty straightforward to make your own pastry, and it's also easy to just dice up some apples and make a simple syrup for apple pies. I am by no means a chef but when I make cookies I make my own dough. When I make caramel-based stuff, I make my own caramel, and apple pies are one of the easiest desserts to make, let alone apple pie cookies. They were completely underdone too.

Apparently tossing a bunch of store bought ingredients magically make you a chef. If I make my own shit from scratch, does that mean I can start up a youtube chef channel and basically claim I have Michelin stars?

I couldn't even watch any more of his shit. He is dreadful.

That's what Sandra Lee did.

Ugh all the dumbass Pinterest moms and their comments on that raw cookie video.

If I recall correctly, his explanation for the pre-prepared everything is that his isn't a "farm-to-table" show, but one for "average joes" who apparently are too poor for things like fresh ingredients.

He's given multiple excuses. He's used the excuse you mentioned, but also because he films in blocks it would take up too much time to make everything from scratch. He's also said that it would be cost prohibitive to do everything from scratch, which is pure horseshit. Takes a tablespoon of butter and a tablespoon of flour plus half a cup of milk to make a roux and then you can turn that into any kind of white sauce you like. No way that's more expensive than buying a premade jar of cheesy sauce.

The comments of his videos are full of defensive excuses as to why he cooks using shit products and always takes shortcuts.

My favorite excuse is "you can learn from my mistakes", coming from the guy who's billing himself an authority on food.

What I wonder is why someone would spend so much time to make so much video of themselves completely failing at something.

I guess that's another of those "why are lolcows lolcows" type questions.

I'm calling bullshit. If I can make a meal that can feed 4, using fresh ingredients for under $40, this lazy putz can too. It just shows how unskilled this guy is at cooking.
