i'm assuming he was very young because he's said he never knew his biological father. jack's mom appears in some early JOTG videos with his stepdad and i believe she passed away a decade ago or so, so they were definitely together until she passed

That whole part of the live is just baffling. I mean the man had a stroke and his brain is already fucked but he was seriously doing some special olympic style mental gymnastics when talking about WTIC and the church chili contest. He tried to say it was because his mom died he cried, but his mom died a few years before the taping. Then he talked about how evil the producers were and how they tried to make him lie about everything and rigged the test because it was local. Also he thought their editing skills were lacking. Basically it was everyones fault but Jack that he is an failure as a businessman and a cook while also crying when confronted about lying.

I also like how he said the church cookoff wasnt rigged but the woman has 15 kids and they all voted for her so thats why he lost. It couldnt be because her chili was better because Jack used whiskey and year old frozen beef as "quality" ingredients in his shit stew, its because she had a bigger family that could vote for her instead of his small family of 3 (that eats like a family of 5).
