Jackie emails, June 2011 -

So I'm looking back over some of the later-dropped Jackie emails and there seems to be something interesting there. In previous sets of emails, Jackie would indicate that s_he would meet up with Chris, but change h_er mind due to real-life events, or due to Chris' problematic behavior. However, in June of 2011, s_he brings up, and makes lots of plans for, meeting Chris in Washington DC for the 4th of July fireworks. It's a plan that actually warrants serious consideration from Chris, with the only stumbling block by the end being h_is mother's wish that h_e don't go - h_e knows what hotel Jackie will be in days in advance and the exact cost of the room, so h_e is well prepared to go meet Jackie in DC.

Obviously Jackie didn't exist. But what was the actual plan when Chris went to DC? Was it just another Ohio trip equivalent plan? Or were there trolls in the works waiting for Chris in DC?

Chris wasn't doing much for Jackie, so it's not crazy for trolls to think he was going to make an excuse to get out of going. Ever since Ohio Chris had expected his girlfriend to come to him (Ivy needed to come to him from Boston, Kacey from DC)
Even IF he did agree to go to DC, I'm sure "Jackie" had some back up plan, like telling him something came up and he can't visit.

I don't think there was a plan for Ohio trip 2.0. I think that Jackie would have come up with something that would have precluded Chris from coming. It was more of a bait to see how much Chris was willing to sacrifice when china's on the line. Not much, it turns out.

I think there would have been people there waiting for him. Marvin mentioned somewhere that they'd been trying to arrange another "date" (presumably ending with another Pickle Man encounter) for a long time but never managed to reel him in.

We've been jerking Chris around for ages. We usually didn't make plans for Chris to meet our girlfriends unless we were planning on ending the relationship there (bluespike, for example) or we had a plan in mind. We mostly didn't suggest an IRL meeting that we thought he'd go to without some sort of plan.

I don't remember the details behind this suggested meeting (I might have the notes somewhere...), but I don't think we would've suggested an IRL meeting if we wanted to continue fucking with him, if we didn't feel like bring out actors, or if we thought he'd actually come down (the most likely reason).

I don't think there was ever a real chance of Chris going out to DC to meet Jackie. Remember the Halloween videos? Jackie told Chris to make a video every day in October, promised him China in November as the reward for this task, and he was allowed to be as lazy as possible with the "costumes". And it was still too much effort for him to do. Chris wants the rest of the world to come to him. Moreso now that Barb has him on an extremely short leash.

Oh, it's trivially possible. He and Barb went down to DC for the mythbusters thing. It's more that you need to get Barb to OK the trip, but it's still possible.

I figured Jackie would bail or Chris would be too lazy/ to really achieve anything with her. Our boy wonder has proven time and time again he has no aptitude for anything right in front of him. Except food in front of him.

Maybe, but we've got enough people around the DC area to put something together for an IRL meeting, if we really wanted to pull that off.

Well, it's not really that big of a thing. Like, most of the time, when we have IRL Chris things, we have them at events we were already going to go to. So we'll go to local conventions, party for a weekend, and that'll just coincidentally be the location for the Chris date. Heh, y'know, the first time I broke a bone was at an inner circle meetup at a convention. (that hotel door was super heavy, and closed on my finger )

Definitely. And he'd really have to invest some effort into persuading Barb. Chris would really have to have a huge boner for mythbusters. I'd be wondering where Chris' interest in mythbusters came from and how I missed it.
