If i have to give reasons to why FF5, FF6 and Chrono Trigger are bad games. It follows more on the mentality of visual novels than video games
Not all old FF games are good. FF5 and FF6 and Chrono Trigger are on the basic level just visual novels camouflaged as video games. Now, 2,3 and 4 can be qualified as game design and games however>Joined: Yesterday
Today I learned there wasn't anyone named "ShadowTheHedgehog" on this gay autistic forum until June 2021.
edit: I like older FF's gameplay more, too.
dont dox yourself kid.Took me awhile to find this. But at the end of this Battle with Cloud Strife in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, that Jared plays here. I commented how Final Fantasy became better after FF6 because it became less childish, which apparently he didnt take lightly. Now my view has updated on old FF games, but not that it wasnt less childish on old Nintendo games "not that it makes a game bad" but i still giggle that it got a response is all

edit: If i have to give reasons to why FF5, FF6 and Chrono Trigger are bad games. It follows more on the mentality of visual novels than video games, thats why i dont care for them. But FF2, FF3 and FF4 relies on game design. For FF2 its battle mechanics, and FF3 and FF4 its planning. FF1 has bad learning curves such as walking on lava which later games you can figure out to use float. So would be last game to play after FF4.
But to sum it up short... FF7-FF10 did story and gameplay better. But you dont need a story for a game to be good aslong as gameplay compliments the game, and not visual novelise it in a sense
Getting strong SammyClassicSonicFan circa 2016 vibes from this guy.dont dox yourself kid.
FF1 is just Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord on the NES. Black Belt is pointless when you can take another Knight. Black Mage's only selling point is the Nuke spell, which comes a little too late; Red Mage and Ninja can both cast Haste but aren't completely useless in melee. In terms of design FF1 is pretty meh - just play with 4 Knights, grind for 4 silver swords and you're steamrolling everything. Not all old FF games are good. I'm pretty sure dialogues and/or stories play important parts for an RPG to be good. But you dont need a story for a game to be good aslong as gameplay compliments the game, and not visual novelise it in a sense
Dialogues and/or stories in the Wizardry and Might and Magic franchises are absolutely fucking retarded and could be cut away without making them both any less great RPGs.I'm pretty sure dialogues and/or stories play important parts for an RPG to be good.
If you just want to watch a movie. Dont play Chrono Trigger. Here.Dialogues and/or stories in the Wizardry and Might and Magic franchises are absolutely fucking retarded and could be cut away without making them both any less great RPGs.
OTOH, dialogue and/or story in the Ultima series is great but game mechanics are complete shit. I had more fun reading the manuals for Ultimas 4-7 and talking to NPCs than from playing the actual game. The plot of X-COM and Fallout: Tactics has little impact on gameplay but make the games much more immersive.
OTaOH, both dialogue and/or story + gameplay in Chrono Trigger are excellent. The secret is to fit the fluff that's rather superficial for a friggin' video game with the gameplay to make it more than a sum of it's parts. Wizardries and M&Ms have gameplay so good you glaze over the dumb fluff but would be even better with a good one.
Look, as a cRPG fag myself, I get the gist of what you're trying to say, despite the cloud of autism. But if you want to criticize what is possibly the best jRPG ever made, you'd best come prepared with some actual arguments. Not all old FF games are good. FF5 and FF6 and Chrono Trigger are on the basic level just visual novels camouflaged as video games. Now, 2,3 and 4 can be qualified as game design and games however
FF8 is amazing, I can see why people hate it but if I had to play only a FF game for the rest of my life I'd pick itFinal Fantasy 8 is a great fucking game and you're a full-on retard if you think that you need to play triple triad or just battle for draws to beat it.

Make your own thread about how much you hate certain SNES RPGs instead of spamming it here, please.Never mind. The guy is a tad bit special in the video. But one cool thing about FF4, remake is. If you plan it out... and use augments rightly. You will feel like a masterplanner. So that may be one cool aspect of that gameYou know what i felt when playing FF5, FF6 and Chrono Trigger?. Oh. I won. There you go
I mean the thing is Proto Babil isnt even that hard. Once you know it atleast. Its a troll boss, not hard but evil designi will admit
Takes one to know one.The guy is a tad bit special in the video.
