I slightly disagree, I think it's both. "SRS surgeons" are like the Nazi "doctors", they'd never give up the chance of having a warm body to cut into, even if it meant they have to make shit up along the way. I think it was in the tranny sideshows thread that for a real necessary surgery (or shit, even traditional cosmetic surgeries) that if the surgeon said "I have my own, personal technique" you'd get the hell out of dodge. People like Ting take "I can't work on this" as a challenge, because their "patients" are, and have always been, nothing but guinea pigs. And their "patients" just accept it because they know subconsciously every "SRS surgeon" is a fucking quack butcher, to the point that the line between "botched" and "non-botched" is "it's not inflamed and I'm not in constant pain every time I try to move".
Considering that even "real" transgenderism is a mental illness (and transtrenderism is a side effect of other issues like npd or bpd) which is hardly being treated at all due to "transphobia", are you seriously asking if people afflicted with eternal loss of personality and or being so psychotic for the ultimate coom are going to think rationally about this?
It's the excessive, horrorshow aspect of it, it's almost like they get off on the idea of the surgery being fucked up. Like I understand where they're coming from, attention is cool, but to go to the length of getting my willy sliced and diced and paying for the courtesy seems a tad too far. But obviously that's why the troons are crying on reddit and I'm sitting here with an intact penis.
People who hurt themselves for attention aren't that rare. Thanks to the Internet though, we've either had an explosion on the numbers (social contagion) or they've simply been brought more to the light for us to see now. Before, they used to do it only to impress or manipulate those around them: mom, friends, partners. Now they do it for their audiences of hundreds of people who are programmed to say "oh, no, poor you, I'm sure you did this not because you're mentally ill, but because you're oppressed".
