I will say this, there do seem to be a lot of W4K fans that seem extremely offended by adults, particularly adult dudes, enjoying anything remotely cutesy or childlike, which is fucking hilarious because everything about Warhammer is like something a 16 year old would think is cool and badass.

There are plenty of really chill people that like Warhammer but some of the most insecure manchildren are also drawn to it and I really think we need to make fun of these fucking nerds more before they start getting ideas that they're any less cringey than bronies and furries.

Yes, clearly the ability to indicate what kind of posting or media does not give you enjoyment and allows a filter to take such stories or posts out of your search queue or results is completely a ploy from the Patriarchy to hurt and belittle downtrodden genocidal pony-porn writers and destroy their very creative souls.

Oh, they still exist, though they mostly confine themselves to writing Conversion Bureau 'deconstructions' that are even longer and spergier than the original. JDR has abandoned enough projects in her life that she seems to have mostly moved on except for some retrospective posts (and now presumably fights the windmills of religious upbringing from fifty years ago in a less public place), but her detractors are still going and writing hundreds of thousands of words about human resistance against cartoon ponies.

This is the climax to several days of violence by Kraber and other recent HLF recruits against neighborhoods in Innsbruck that contain Equestrian expatriates and humans who associate with them.

* July 29: Viktor Kraber and Kagan Burakgazi blow up the Istanbul Conversion Bureau together, having apparently tried to form ‘lone wolf’ terrorist bombings that coincided with each other, striking up a lifelong friendship. They later laughed it off in a cafe in Kas, Turkey. Rumors abound that they are in a committed homosexual relationship, which Kraber and Burakgazi later confirm.

* August 7: North Korea is overtaken by Solar Empire forces and PER, the majority of the population ponified. The story has over 600k words, about half of JDR's Conversion Bureau stories. The authors I checked all have hundreds of thousands of words in other deconstructions.

It used to have an official group, but disagreements between Redskin and the rest of the writers led to the group being deleted and the original fic is officially cancelled. The group has announced an official reboot called SPECTRUM , aiming to fix most of the issues found in the original fic. The reboot's tropes can be found under SPECTRUM. It has an official group, which can be found here .

The reboot is at almost 500k words now, last updated in September 2020.

The Conversion Bureau Wikia (of course it exists) has some more details that were left out from the TVTropes page for some reason. (Kizuna Tallis, one of the authors, has edited all of various wiki pages about this story and Conversion Bureau that I could find in a cursory search, including TVTropes, Conversion Bureau wiki and Fanlore.)

Redskin has stated he wrote the story as a a deconstruction of TCB stories due to his personal dislike of the universe, particularly the stories of Chatoyance.

The series is notable for its large ensemble cast and highly detailed world building, with the co-authors expressing a dedication to make the story's world as thorough a deconstruction of the TCB universe as a whole.

The main story's writer, Redskin 122004, has stated his main reason to write the story was a general response to his dislike of the genre, stating he felt The Conversion Bureau went against many principles he felt the series itself was founded on. In particular, Redskin has expressed a vocal dislike for Chatoyance's stories, a sentiment shared by many of the co-writers. Co-author and Asia side-story writer Kizuna Tallis has stated on her FimFiction blog that her story and her input draws influences from The Salvation War series, The Hunger Games series, and the Metal Gear Solid games, while Doctor Fluffy (author of the Starvation and Calm side stories) has admitted on his FimFiction blog that the works of China Mieville (particularly Perdido Street Station), Welcome to Night Vale, Elysium, District 9, and several first person shooters (especially Wolfenstein: The New Order and the Deus Ex series) have a huge influence on the atmospheres of his works. They also both have influences from Pacific Rim in their works and input on the main story. Parallels to World War Z are also drawn.

This is somehow immensely pretentious and pedestrian at the same time.

So on one side, we have JDR, a misanthrope who has stated her fanfiction is closer to the author's original vision than the actual source material and who has made ponies into superbeings who are above human morality.

As crazy and as obnoxious as JDR can be, I can't ever get too mad at her because she seems mostly harmless (aside from the questionable tactics she recommends on trangender.org for people questioning their gender), and she's wildly creative, moreso than the majority of her critics. I'd much rather have a conversation with her than most of the people that go out of their way to troll her. She really is an internet legend.
