In the heat of all this, Blaire White outted one of the people in Gazi's videos as Jesse Nevel, a man currently running for mayor of St. Petersberg and a member of the Uhuru Solidarity Movement. The primary key to Jesse's platform is the idea of reparations.

St Petersburg, FL--Jesse Nevel announced his candidacy for Mayor of the City of St. Petersburg, Florida.

The 27-year-old is best known for his work as the National Chair of the Uhuru Solidarity Movement (USM), the organization of white people working under the leadership of the African People's Socialist Party (APSP), organizing for reparations to the black community.

He made the announcement standing in front of the Tropicana Field baseball stadium surrounded by supporters including family members, friends and community members.
The site of the announcement was chosen, Jesse explained, to symbolize the ongoing injustice exemplified in the city's displacement of the black community that once lived in the area where the Tropicana stadium was later constructed.

"We are here to stand together as a movement of the people to say in one voice, loud and clear that we will no longer tolerate the failed policies and social and economic injustices of the past, the corruption of establishment politicians and their false and empty promises," Jesse stated.

Jesse denounced the current mayor, Rick Kriseman, as a pawn of the big money elite who are transforming the economic terrain of St Petersburg into a wealthy, upscale tourist attractor at the expense of the black community and other neighborhoods of people who have lived in the city for generations.

He also announced that his campaign would be hitting the streets to build a movement for sweeping changes in the city government. The public policy of police containment will be replaced by a public policy of economic development.

"Save that $79 million they want to use to build a new police station and put that towards developing business on 16th Street right down the street from where we stand right now," declared Jesse.

Press TV: We have seen rallies with respect to this proportionate use of violence by the US police against the African-American community. But this is a whole different can of worms. What is going on, on these college campuses?

Nevel: Greetings to you Press TV. Thank you so much for having me on and greetings on behalf of African People's Solidarity Committee.

I think that these protests on the campuses are really inspiring and this is the latest former resistance coming from colonized and oppressed African or black population inside the US that, as you mentioned, not only faces colonial terror at the hands of the police that function as an occupation army in their community, but also face anti-black-violence hostility within their education system and we just saw that with the Spring Valley HS…, you see in university of Missouri, Berkeley high school over there have been protests.

And the truth is that African people are faced white hostility and violence within school system ever since the first 9 black children were forced to integrate into a white school in 1957 where the National Guard was brought in. So this is the latest chapter in the struggle of resistance by African people to their colonial pressure within this country.

Press TV: And what kind of reform are the students hoping to see on the campuses take place?

Nevel: Well I think that the students you know have been calling for changes within the administration, but ultimately, I think these protests are part of a way of a resistance that goes beyond these reforms will be implemented within the campuses and ultimately are calling for a whole social transformation for African people who have liberation in power over their own lives.

And I just want to say that as a white person who stands in solidarity with African people on their struggle for liberation; I just want to make a call to white students that these universities need campuses to unite with these rights struggles and to go further become part of Uhuru Solidarity Movement and call for reparation to African people, to the black community.

Press TV: It has been a long time since the Civil Rights Movement that took place in the US almost three or four decades ago. Is it that enough has not been done over last three or four decades? Or What needs to be done for the African-Americans feel that their voice matters in America?

Nevel: Well what happened after the Civil Rights Movement, the rise of the black liberation struggle, was crushed by the US government, by the US military and two generations have gone by since then and what we have seen in this period is that the African liberation struggle has sparked once again from Ferguson to Baltimore and for it on.

So this is a struggle that will not end until this system of colonialism is overturned; this system that was built on slavery and genocide is done away with and reparations are paid to the African people for hundreds of years of oppression that built white society and put America and Europe at their expense.

After burning the American flag, the group found a confederate flag and also burned that. Members of the Uhuru Solidarity Movement spoke to the crowd saying the American flag and the confederate flag are one in the same. Jesse Nevel called the American flag "a piece of s---."

Ah, the Manure-Ooh Movement. I remember them from my years in Oakland, California, where they have a sizable presence, and constantly annoy locals. One of their accomplishments was demonizing a Black homeowner as a "tool of white supremacy" because he was working to get Black gangbangers and drug dealers off of his block. Their press releases on this non-issue stopped just short of inciting the "oppressed Black youth" to pop a cap in him. Was unaware they had chapters outside the Bay Area.

Essentially, they are to African-American politics, what the Revolutionary Communist Party is to Marxism -- a cult based on manipulative self-abnegation, an insanely Manichean view of American racial issues, and violent threats against anyone who opposes or questions them. I can't help but think that ironically, the very fact it's run by self-loathing, college-educated White shitheads like Nevel, is why it's been spared from the treatment given to groups like the original Black Panthers, MOVE Afrika, or the Miami Yahwists.

Oh, I would love to see reparations go forward. You'd have to start with genetic tests, of course. Then you'd have to discuss percentages, as zero African-Americans are 100% African. If you're 60% European and 40% African, do you pay or get paid?
