It is VERY difficult to get someone else's license revoked in Canada. I am unclear on where the problem is, but we managed to get a relative to submit to a doctor's order and stop driving. He went down to the US and paid a new doctor to say he was fine. Canada re-issued him a license. The insurance companies can't turn down those sweet, sweet premiums on elderly people with no specific diagnosis.

I know a person who has been suffering unexplained seizures, and dutifully complies with the incredibly inconvenient driving bans (likely now permanent, just not well enough controlled) People who do the right thing on this front are heroes. I mean it. My relative shows that you definitely don't HAVE to, and our enforcement isn't enough to keep chronically unsafe people from potentially killing others.

Actually, there are more actors than appears on the surface. From the get you've got MORRIS & SZUCS, and they named MEDELCO and KOR INNOVATIONS as liable 3rd parties, inflating the costs.

Yaniv didn't even know that MEDELCO and KOR would be roped in, I bet he thought he was going to get easy revenge on an immigrant (Szucs) woman who denied his attempt to gently grasp her bosom. I'm impressed by how the firm Alex Holburn LLP has kept their name off the file. Everyone else is listed loud and proud. HC said that they had three separate lawyers dealing with it (the potato, on three separate files.. two a matter of public record, a third something wee're not supposed to know about), at the time, but that was the middle of November. A lot may have changed since then...
Justin Abrioux pointedly said "we know who you're with and no offence, but we want to maintain as much distance as possible". So they don't like KF, or they don't like HC.

The recent update should be available within 48-hrs if they understand what "expedite to protect the potential victims of him.. her.. it, Yaniv" means. Here's the original package of JY's claim and MEDELCO response, and we will include the updated parties list later tonight. I wouldn't bet on the timeliness of yesterday's doc, because they are typical bureaucrats, and so delay-delay-delay.

I don't really give a fuck about this and I pitched an "enemy of my enemy" presentation about Dr Yaniv and Mr Smith, but they wanted nothing to do with stopping the predator potato. So needless to say, I'll be slowly parsing the conversations and albeit there's nothing too damning, they've demonstrated that they're aware of what a shit-head Yaniv is, and they sat on their hands as Donald got poked, prodded, and finally locked up at the behest of Jonathan.

I remember something in the CBA guidelines about "duty to disclose" to their client if an offer is made that can affect the outcome of the litigation. Enjoy the three minute shorter version of a polite "fuck off and stay the fuck away from me". I believe these guys' numbers were posted earlier somewhere, so do as thou whilt.

Wiretap laws are different in Canada, it's a single-party-consent jurisdiction, and if you're worried about allegations of defamation, look up truth as a defence in Canada. AHBL was given a ripe opportunity to demolish Dr Yaniv with Mr Smith's situation, and all it would have required is some non-zero-sum gameplay. They talked a big game, but they're typical short-sighted lawyers.

Bringing in the supply company by way of a third-party claim is quite clever. Obviously there’s the liability concern but tactically it’s a good move. MEDELCO hired one of the top local law firms in Vancouver, and they’ll crush Yaniv like a sledgehammer would a fly. They also will have no problem seeking enforcement on any costs award (in BC, these are usually only 20-33 % of the actual cost, sometimes doubled after a refused settlement offer).

I only hope Jay Cameron get the waxers their $6k before the costs award comes - I doubt JY has enough to go around and they would otherwise have to share any money pro rata.

I agree, and the fact that both third party respondents are connected to Abrioux with AHBL is interesting. Andrea McNeil is formerly employed by Quinlan Abrioux (looks like she might have hung her own shingle and was tossed a case by Justin because they're schtupping). MEDELCO is represented by Justin Abrioux with AHBL. Andrea McNeil represents KOR INNOVATIONS. This looks very autistic, and it's more like a gedanken, but I find it intriguing, the corollary between MEDELCO and KOR INNOVATIONS. I'm only digging into this because Justin was a total asshole in the recorded conversation..

Seeing as how there's a settlement conference soon in this case, I did some reading on the provided files and I have a question. The gist of what I got is JY sues Physio, Physio lawyers up and ropes in 2 third-parties that manufacture or delivered the massage table (they also lawyered up). The third-parties are denying liability and asking for costs. When the third party ask for cost, is it against JY or physio? I want it to be JY but physio is the one that roped them into it.
