This thread is like New York's hottest club. It has everything. Narcissists, religious mania, anorexia by proxy, pyramid schemes, "self sufficient" cottage industry grifters, child neglect, stupendously inadequate homeschooling.
I notice some of the kids wear glasses. That's not remarkable, tons of people wear glasses, and more and more children need glasses in the digital age. There are plenty of families where all or most of the members have poor vision. But combined with the malnutrition, it just jumps out at me. It's probably nothing though, right?
I also notice that it's basically just some of the boys who wear glasses. Do you think Jill would bother getting the girls glasses? Maybe they're allowed contacts, even though I can see some universe where contacts are immodest.
Anyway, just something I thought of while perusing this amazing thread about horrible, horrible people. We have some really gross, stupid narcissists on this board, but the ones I follow don't have 13 fucking children they're destroying. Religion must be like super cocaine to a narc.

Damn, it looks like Jill splashed out more cash for this baby shower than she did for their wedding. TWO cakes for their unborn grandson, when his mother has never been permitted to eat a slice of her own?
As ever, the entire scene was fugly and Jill-ified to the the max with random tat Jill dragged put of the barndominium.
Also, who hosts a baby shower that early in the pregnancy? I wonder if Nathan is putting his foot down more about Nurie traveling later on. God knows Jill is going to demand she and the entire family witness the birth unless someone shuts her down.

It wouldn't surprise me, if the cakes were a gift by someone at the shower. Over at reddit they are speculating that one of the guests at her birthday is the future fiance for Renee and he is apparently also visible in the babyshower videos. So maybe his family contributed some money. Or Nathan did purchase stuff after the card-board-reveal.
Of course it's Renee potentially getting matched before Kaylee (or Tim, for that matter). Jill hates Kaylee but wants her around to do her work. But Tim is her ever-loving mother-son who can never be permitted to leave her.
And I agree, the cake was probably donated by a church member who knows damn well Jill never feeds anyone at anything she hosts.
Anyway, here's Jill's post about David and her dad for Father's day. I can't tell if the post is just her being that shallow that the only positive thing she can say about her husband is "he whelped 13 kids on me and loves god". On the other hand, David doesn't DO anything - he doesn't provide, he doesn't help, he eats all the food Jill can tolerate in the house, and he doesn't lead.

Well, she's demanding her children perform prayers for the free tortilla chips Jill is about to permit them to eat. But Jill doesn't need to pray with them; she's attained a state of holiness where prayer is unnecessary. Unless she's at a funeral for someone she doesn't know. Then she prays loudly, so as to be an example for others.
Jill posed her eldest child and son-in-law like they're her living Barbie dolls for her phone and called it a maternity photo shoot. I'm happy they seem happy, but poor Nurie is literally barefoot, pregnant, living in a trailer, and skeletal aside from her pregnancy. If she nurses, there's going to be nothing left of her.
