I think the article it pretty objective actually, not as bad as I anticipated. Jim no doubt had a huge impact on COVID discourse within the right. Mike Peinovich directly credits Jim for his early paranoia, which I am surprised the author didn't mention as Mike is tends to be on the radar of counter-extremism researchers.
Officially can add this to the list of things Jim has caused: Trump's election, Carl Benjamin's run, Ralph's baby, COVID hysteria, etc.
I can't find much info on the author, he's only co-authored one other paper and only recently got his PhD at the University of Kent. I doubt he's a "sweetie", his research focus was already in health risk communication and there are a handful of genuine leftists and antifascists in academia who do research in the form of listening to thousands of hours of dissent right podcasts and livestreams (or use AI to sift through the rubble).
I don't know what's more bizarre: the fact that some labcoat published an actual paper about Jim's Wu Flu streams, or the fact that it took almost a month for anyone to notice.

The whole thing sticks to me, it seems the government made some choices that defy logical reasoning (putting COVID patients in nursing homes, not listening to Taiwan which had better data then more other countries at the time, refusing to close boarders because "Racism", banning activities that encourage isolation and are by nature low risk, etc).
I mean every country had different strategies based on how the country operates, Sweden is quite different then the United States, Canada Is different the vietnam ect.... If every country pulled the exact same plan it would be suspect.
