If you do even the slightest amount of content you'll be over leveled for the campaign.

People are being giant babies about this. Take issue with the item being sold in the first place, but claiming they're neutered the experience to force a purchase is dumb dumb dumb.

The dumbest assed part of the drama is you can turn off scaling if you're butthurt about not being able to one shot everyone like in the old games.

Crossposting this from Zoe Quinn's thread:
Article on the game that apparently managed to get in touch with people who were involved (anonymous):
So yeah it's not even vaporware, but apparently there were employees and they were paid. At some point.
@sophnar0747's responsible for the article and raised some good points about not only Quinn, but Sterling himself:
Again, friends in the medium help out friends. Why else does Jim Sterling remain silent about a project he lent his voice to? He’s built a career out of taking the industry to task, yet he doesn’t seem interested in why something he dedicated time to has just disappeared. Could it be because he’s collaborated on projects involving Quinn a number of times, including a recent book his own Podcast cohort and close friend Laura Kate Dale is soon to be publishing after her own successful crowdfund?
.
.
.
Jim Sterling may screech about consumer rights, yet he doesn’t seem to care when consumers get ripped off by a friend.
There was also this take in the comments:

On today's Jimquisition, Jim Sterling totally doesn't encourage us to go to real casinos, and goes on to teach us exactly what to do to get the most out of a trip to the Beau Rivage resort and casino in southern Mississippi. Including how to get sloshed on the cheap... at a real-world place designed to extract as much money from you as possible.

Considering a big chunk of Jim Sterling's audience is depressed and otherwise mentally ill, I don't think encouraging viewers to dance by the flames of a real-life casino, a predatory establishment with many, many more years of experience preying on the destitute than any video game publisher, is the best idea. But ok whatever lol

My problem with his “consumer advocacy” is how disingenuous it feels, you can tell he’s doing it for views and goodboy Points from Twitter and Reddit and not because he actually cares about hapless consumers getting buttfucked by scummy business practices

Same with Angry Joe, Quartering, YongYea, RTU, etc

Yeah, his pro-casino BS just screams in your face his whole "it doesn't affect me, so I don't care" stance. If one of his own friends or family members (one he actually cares about) were a problem gambler, he'd be wishing the Beau Rivage would burn down.

Maddox's parents are problem gamblers, so there's a lolcow crossover for ya. I'd like to see those two idiots discussing casinos for an hour.

I could be wrong, but YongYea never really seemed like a "consumer advocate" type, at best the guy just gives various news on some stuff that has occurred and shares his opinion on it. I've rarely seen him stand on a soap box and claim he's a an advocate, best he's just a simple youtube dude who shares his views and that's about it.

Look, I hate scummy MTXs too, but it’s clear guys like YY, Sterling, RTU, Quartering, etc only make these videos because they’re easy to make and generate easy clicks

Easy clicks, biggest topic in the gaming community and everyone jumps to cover it. So, really banging on this is the same as banging on every news sources covering the same topic when it's a big thing.

You know I made a comment a long while ago about him not knowing about how common overtime was in other industries. I made that comment because to me Jim doesn't come across as someone who cares about anything that isn't related to gaming, your post confirms that thought for me.

The likes of Jim & Yong thinks they're spreading the message when they're pump out video after video covering the same shit. Where as what's actually happening is that they're preaching to the choir, sure you'll get a few curious visitors who watches a videos because they saw it recommended to them and wonder what's happening, but those types aren't going to stick around or spread the message. Now you know who I think are the the best people to counter shitty practices are? The fanbases, they know what they want, and they'll spread the message very quickly if they feel they're being raped a company. It's certainly not completely effective, but they sure as shit do a better job than the likes of Yong and Jim will ever do. Also really emphasizes why Jim or websites like Polygon are so stupid for attacking fanbases, they're basically trying to end the most effective police force they have.

Well, lets not glorify fanbases, shall we? As much as I dislike say Yahtzee, the guy did raise the idea how fans are and remain whiny and never pleased fuckheads who also never really know what they want. You wanna try something new with a franchise? Theyll whine and scream rape/murder of "muh childhood!" You wanna re-release it for the younger fans or do a remake? Theyll cry how ite blatant pandering and how younger fans need to fuck off as the "old fans" matter more. An thats not even getting into em pissing about "back in muh days" BS.

Hasn't Sterling mentioned in videos about loot boxes he finds himself drawn to them because of an addictive personality trait? So he allegedly knows that feeling and yet makes a video like that. What a twat.

He's just more dry\boring. Which, to be fair, I think is a positive element in a market with clowns running around yelling that the sky is falling at all times. It's not bad to have someone with a calming voice that basically goes over whatever Jim et al have been on about this week, though.

My issue wasn’t “fanbase demonization”, my issue was that these kinds of videos are lazy and shit and that the men in these videos are obviously just crying “pro-consumer” crocodile tears to get Twitter and Reddit to give them asspats

The “fanbase demonization”, comments weren't necessarily a direct reply to you, more a separate thing that came to my mind that was related. My point was that I don't think they're actively trying to pander, they're trying to spread information to the masses. Lets say that in reality that every video they do that 10% are new views and the remainder is their existing audience. I think the reason Jim & Yong pump out basically the same content all the time is that they think those numbers are reversed. They think they're not pandering because most of their audience is new, when in reality it's mostly the same hipster redditor types tuning in every week, hope that better explains my point.

I completely agree, you shouldn't always listen to a fanbase, and I'll say that my comment about a fanbase knowing what they want isn't correct. What would be more accurate to say is that a fanbase as a collective knows what it wants in a general sense, but not the exact details of what it wants. You should try and figure out what the common complaints for the vast majority and fix them, maybe even listen to the select few that actually go through the effort to explain their criticisms in a non-autistic manner. But of course you don't listen to every single twelve year old that says that you should make your game easier, or someone that doesn't understand that a remake isn't taking resources from their main projects.
