As someone that did study that shit (like, it's my major for my bachelor's degree), Nash should pick up a book once in a while. It might help to actually articulate his reasoning a lot better than just "Abolish all prisons lol" without a fucking plan or course of action.

This is one of those things that, not being from the USA, really blows my mind.

Giving the private sector the job to look after inmates is a strange concept to me.

I don't know enough about the reasons and politics behind it, and am not really invested in the topic, but it just seems cruel to me. Because there's no incentive for those companies to actually get the incarcerated to rehabilitate and get out of the system. The more people in the system that can work for pennies, the better for them.

It's a conflict of interests to me.
