For instance, Kevin Mitnick shows all the signs of autism, but was a very successful social engineer, and most of his "hacks" depended at least in part on this skill. If people lack a theory of mind but are otherwise highly intelligent, they might notice things about often semi-scripted human interactions that let you take advantage of them, like interactions between security-related people in tech-related activities. He was usually able to get people to hand over passwords or other information even despite not having any real or even fake credentials, just as a voice over the phone.
