It's been a while since I've seen a movie series go from a surprisingly OK first entry to an absolutely dogshit second one. Hopefully this means no more movies.
Pacific Rim. Godzilla: King of Monsters. That Predator movie with the autistic teen. That Alien movie that came out a few years ago. Star Wars.

The list goes on. Hollywood has an reverse Midas Touch going on.

Johnny Depp sure has fallen hard from his 2000s era heyday, which really bums me out, both because I kinda liked Depp and because it makes you realize how long ago the 2000s were now.

I find it funny though how almost every Hollywood franchise eventually runs itself into the ground, be it Terminator, Star Wars, Lord of The Rings, Harry Potter and so on.

They all follow the Police Academy model of just cranking out so many movies until you've just totally bled something dry.

I'm not the biggest Depp fan, but this is lame.

On the other hand, he got out of a burning dumpster fire of a movie franchise. Dude ought to get a role in a movie that's not pop culture junk food. Maybe something a little weird that doesn't fall into "so quirky uwu" current year trash.
Well he did actually do the Tusk movie.
