He needs a legally trained Thinking Brain Dog
Perversion, threats of rape, firearms offenses, abuse, child exploitation, these things are bad, right, but ABUSE A PUPPY!!! Watch the world finally reach peak outrage at this step too far.
I could be wrong here, but I’m pretty sure that “Emotional Support Animals” are rather plainly not viewed as “Service Dogs” under the laws governing Service Animals in BC. Emotional Support Dogs are considered “pets”. And are restricted from places where you cannot bring pets. Such as Courthouses. Service Animals are Certified. And as a general rule you don’t train them up yourself. The only real exception is “Therapy Dogs”. Which allows you to Certify your dog to certain levels of obedience and temperament, in order to bring it into Hospitals and Nursing Care facilities for “Therapy Work”. (Letting old people and kids stuck in the hospital get a visit from a friendly well behaved dog That they can pet.) Businesses, Governments and Airlines have largely stopped falling for the scam that is “Emotional Support Animals”.
What training is jon boy talking about? Housetraining, as in no peeing/pooing in the home? Walking nicely on a lead? You know, the things that responsible dog owners take on board when acquiring a dog. How is having a housetrained dog related to attending court for assault?
Not even a Canada only thing, lots of airlines started banning emotional support animals as people were using whatever excuse they could come up with to keep animals with them in flights. There's a reason why airline flights and zoos aren't usually mixed together, so it's reasonable to see why they did so!

Business owners might be hesitant to confront dog owners about questionable Service Dogs. Judges, Courthouses and Strata Councils not so much. “Paper’s Please!”
Don’t misinterpret what is going on here.The Judge is giving Yaniv more than enough time to get his shit in order, hire a lawyer, and take this seriously. There are a few reasons for this. The biggest being the hope that Yaniv takes the time to get a lawyer or reach a plea deal with the Prosecutor, such that the Judge doesn’t have to deal with the fucking nutbag. But more importantly it shows that he is giving the lunatic every opportunity now and is showing no disfavor to the freak. Everybody gets a few freebies early on in the process. Delaying the trial that hasn’t yet started costs the court and judge nothing, And immunizes against any cries of “bias” downstream. Which are certain to come. Judges mostly aren’t complete Chupp’like idiots. And Yaniv is a pretty easy to read problem child.
I'm just saying he can't pick & choose which court dates he'll attend without tipping his hand.
