So he "uttered a threat" when he told Chris he was going to kill him. He then called the RCMP (cops) and fed them some bullshit about what Chris had done to him. When the RCMP went to Chris, Chris gave them the video where Yaniv's accusations were proven blatantly false and he threatened Chris's life. So the RCMP, who is currently being sued by Yaniv in 2 separate courts and has had enough of his endless waste of police resources, charged him with uttering threats and 2 counts of mischief, (for filing a false report).

We believe it was an attempt to conceal his past behavior when people look up his name. The idea, I assume, was that if you google "jessica simpson" the results will show the celebrity and perhaps other genuine women, whereas if you google "jessica yaniv" the results speak for themselves. But it didn't work out for him; it made him look more insane and still didn't obscure his history of inappropriate and criminal behavior. He certainly isn't the SEO expert that he thinks he is.

It took a month or two for the prosecutor to charge him for attacking the Rebel reporter. While the police responded immediately after brandishing the taser it took a month for the charges to show up on the BC records search.

the description of this incident is wonky. He supposedly didn't hear anything because he was not using his hearing aid (is his hearing loss even legit?), and he couldn't have tripped the alarm, because he lives on the 2nd floor, and there is no way for him to be on the 4th floor. Like, use your staircase or something. Also how did he know on which floor the alarm have started? Officer told him or what?

The burden of proof in a criminal case is beyond reasonable doubt, in a civil trial it’s the on the balance of probabilities. See the criminal case against OJ Simpson v the estate of Nicole Brown v O J Simpson. Re “rights “ it’s slightly different in each jurisdiction but essentially follows the civil threshold.
Also, the goal of most civil litigation is settlement.

You don't generally get arrested for a false alarm pull, you just get an ear-bashing from the cops about the cost to deploy fire trucks and paramedics, how someone could have been in real danger but they prioritzed an apartment fire as having potentially more deaths so they raced here while someone died etc etc.

I’m not sure in Canada, but in most US municipalities, while they won’t “arrest” you for a fire pull. They will issue a summons, which carries a fairly substantial fine. Depending on place it may be the Fire Chief or Fire Marshall who writes you.

It also depends on whether the alarm pull is accidental or intentional. In some older buildings around here, fire alarms may not be enclosed in protective plastic as they are in newer buildings or older buildings that have been recently renovated -- making them easier to accidentally snag. I imagine more latitude is given in those situations. An intentional pull might not result in an on the spot arrest, but one can guarantee that the person in question will be under further scrutiny even if they manage to avoid fines or other penalties for the first offense.

His whole RCMP complaint is bullshit too. How the fuck is he being discriminated against “as a lesbian”? Doesn’t he understand that for discrimination on the basis of homosexuality he’d have to prove he was being treated differently than a straight person?

I suspect this complaint is JYS' response to being charged in this particular case. Many on this forum have talked about transgendered status being used as a get out of jail free card or armor against negative legal encounters or consequences. It definitely looks like JYS is trying to use "Troon Armor" against the RCMP in an attempt to weasel their way out of trouble here. Let's hope that if the complaint isn't dismissed, it's at least heard by someone who won't be fooled by JYS' crocodile tears and instead looks at their actual behavior in this and other matters as relevant.
