I was totally against taxpayer dollars being spent on this type of surgery, but someone here opened my eyes so I'll paraphrase their idea (sorry I forget who you are). Imagine how unlikely it would be to push a government mandated eugenics program against these type of people in today's hypersensitive culture. It would never happen. This is the ultimate unintentional mindfuck which acts as a means to an ultra-conservative end. The result is still state funded sterilization of defective persons - it's just voluntary albeit propagandized. It benefits the future of humanity. SRS has accomplished the impossible.... just not in the way most people think.

But I will add that there's a very small segment of the population that are born with ambiguous genitalia. Doctors typically make the decision to assign these babies as female because of technical constraints insofar that it's "easier to make a hole than build a pole" as I heard one surgeon say in conversation on the topic. These people are genuinely getting fucked in life from multiple angles because not only do they have a legitimate medical issue that may have been improperly treated during infancy, but now they're swept under the same flag as cross dressing homosexual men who never had genital ambiguity at birth. I didn't think about sewing it to pelvis, how silly of me. I read about hysterectomies and how sometimes organs relocate after that organ is missing- but of course, everything can't be sewn in place, so I automatically didn't consider that as something they'd count as a reason for not doing it. Taking into account how messy the main procedure is to begin with. Still, trying to detach a sewn in penis head that's mostly attached to nerves and was skinned sounds like a good way to have those bits die off completely.
