Back in early May, The Federal Republic of Australatina overthrew the incompetent strongman Philip V. Delici, General Secretary of the Partida de Obrero Maoistas, in a rapid dissolution of government authority known as Operation Bolivar. Many thanks were had to the UN forces that assisted these freedom fighters, with Canadian troops being particularly beloved by the populace. The liberation of San Felipe with the assistance of a battalion of the 82nd Airborne was also well regarded by the Democratic forces behind the revolution, with KOFO being the main force behind the movement.
Since that time, the elections for a new government have been underway as homes are built, repaired, and food is distributed. Five major parties have come about, primarily from the opposition forces and critics of the old government.
Partida Liberal: The Partida Liberal is a Social Democratic party that was founded by long time critics of the old POM. It in some ways is seen as the successor to the Partida Rosada, the socialist party the POM overthrew with Soviet aid. This gave it some extra resources in the form of the expatriate community.
Communion Catolicos: The Catholic Communion is a Centrist Christian Democratic Party that had its roots in the late '90s. Headed by Father Ricardo Valero, the Bishop of San Felipe created a peaceful underground movement designed to demand non party unions and some personal rights. This gives them support in the capital regions
Derecha Republicana: The Republican Party of Australatina is a recent invention, with a variety of people horribly unhappy with the idea of the Partida Liberal taking the reins. It is most in tune with the GOP of the US, and in particular are fans of the populist candidate for that party Donald Trump. Their anti-authoritarianism makes them rather popular to those sick of the long communist reign.
Anglican Union: The Anglican Union is the party for los Ciscadios, the English speaking people that form a strong minority in the nation and are the majority in Ciscadia province. They seek to make sure that the long persecution of their people doesn't happen again. They seek some autonomy and guaranteed rights.
Union del Bosque: Founded by disatisfied Indigenos thinkers and environmentalists the Forester's Union seek to fix the damage the POM did to Australatina's environment. In particular they have a strong hatred of roads and cars, seeing them as a symbol of the excesses of the old regime. They seek to rip out redundant roads and make the remaining infrastructure more efficient and nicer to the environment.
Besides these five parties are independent candidates who have their own stances.
It is up to the people to decide who will make up for the dreadful reign of Las Papas, as the clownish former leader is now known by.

tl;dr vote for someone to basically pull a Billy Mays on Phil's shitty country.
