Over two years ago, the Federal Republic of Australatina was freed from the grip of Maoism and government mismanagement due to Operation Bolivar. The country has had a trying two years, as a broken economy slowly began to heal, primarily thanks to new US businesses that set up facilities there to exploit the cheap labor force. Despite this, there are still problems aplenty.
Caciques have exploited the newly freed market and have gathered a lot of power as oligarchs, abusing their soft and hard power with small private armies. Police corruption due to centralized mismanagement is still rampant, as is the drug running operation that have plagued the country since the 1990s. But despite this, the simmering tension between Ciscadian and Austrolatines have eased at their lowest since the 1960s; the surprise win by the Anglican Union, bilingualism legislation, and the combined suffering both ethnicities faced under the misrule of the POM being the cause of this rapprochement.
Regardless, the time has come to give the government its vote of confidence. Four parties have arranged funds to stand for elections, each with a newly revised plan to take Australatina into a new dawn.
Communion Catolicos: Representing both Centrism and Christian Democracy, the Communion Catolicos became the chief opposition party to the newly incumbent Presidency and Premiership. Still headed by Padre Ricardo Valero, the Communion's main stances are to try to ease back some of the economic reforms, finding the crash capitalist program started by Premier de Mayo partially responsible for the famine of 2017. They seek to create a stable country that all children of God can find pleasant.
Derecha Republicana: Under the leadership of Premier de Mayo, the Right Republican Party went from a wide stable of dissidents into a viable political force. An admirer of President Trump, Guillermo de Mayo is responsible for a new bilateral trade agreement with the United States, opening the country to United States goods and businesses for the first time in over fifteen years. This populist party is polarizing due to industry hiccups, but seen as an active force in politics.
Anglican Union: Originally a party solely for los Ciscadios, the Anglican Union gained wide appreciation from the Indigenos community for representing a voice of a Federal, rather than a Central, authority. President Davis has grown into his own, but the famine last year has damaged the Right Coalition as he and de Mayo's parties have been called. The party still is pushing for Federalism, wanting to rebalance the Provinces' powers with the still strong central Government. Rumors have leaked out that the AU and DR may fuse into one ticket, which has those on the left of the AU agitated.
Union Verde: Originally a party for Indigenos by Indigenos, the left wing Forest's Union as it was called during its first election has grown into the party of the Left. The complete collapse of Partida Liberal ensured that the two would fuse together favoring the newly named Green Union. Their main efforts are again in reconstructing the environment, mainly in ripping apart the "Roads to Nowhere" that routinely damaged the forests and rolling scrublands of the nation. They also seek to modernize factories (retooled from making signs) by giving them carbon scrubbers. Besides this, they seek to open more freedoms for the people.
Lastly, there are the caciques, who often have their own agenda and can easily sway elections. Two of note include Jose D'Acero and Randall Lahey, both former KOFO operatives that grew rich off of the opened economy in the steel and housing industry respectively.
It has brought much joy to the Federal Republic to note that Las Papas, as former strongman Philip Delici is known by in their circles, is on death's door after he mutilated his own genitals in some desperate plea for attention.

tl;dr continue to vote on who's supposed to fix Phil's shitty country.
