Because I'm kind of supposed to make this thread.

It’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles.

When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.

With all of the wonder, adventure and thrills synonymous with one of the most popular and successful series in cinema history, this all-new motion-picture event sees the return of favorite characters and dinosaurs—along with new breeds more awe-inspiring and terrifying than ever before. Welcome to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Stars Pratt and Howard return alongside executive producers Steven Spielberg and Colin Trevorrow for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. They are joined by co-stars James Cromwell, Ted Levine, Justice Smith, Geraldine Chaplin, Daniella Pineda, Toby Jones, Rafe Spall and Isabella Sermon, while BD Wong and Jeff Goldblum reprise their roles.

Directed by J.A. Bayona (The Impossible), the epic action-adventure is written by Jurassic World’s director, Trevorrow, and its co-writer, Derek Connolly. Producers Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley once again partner with Spielberg and Trevorrow in leading the filmmakers for this stunning installment. Belén Atienza joins the team as a producer.

First of all, I'm surprised somebody remembered the island was described as volcanic in the book.
Second of all, that baby is definitely one of Blue's. Which brings me to my third point. Way back in the first movie the footprints leading from the nest Dr. Grant stumbles upon are identical to the adult raptor footprints leading away from their special holding pen. Wild breeding raptors was a plot point in the book that the movie only hinted at before now. I think Blue bred with one of descendants of the wild raptors from 1993. Large packs of wild raptors could be a plot point.

Still no feathers on any dinosaurs. 0/10 realism.
What John Hammond and InGen did at Jurassic Park was create genetically engineered theme park monsters, nothing more and nothing less.

Looks interesting. Should be decent as long as its not "Roland Emmerich" levels of dumb.

Agree. As a certified expert on Jurassic Park, I was pleasantly surprised by the last one and it delivered well enough after the 14 year wait that I was hoping they wouldn't rush into a fifth movie and spoil things. Obviously they did though but hopefully this new one doesn't get too overindulgent or anything.

Is this going to continue to have bloodless carnage, or will they finally wisen up and give us some gore for once? Also I can't be the only one who's noticing similarities/shout-outs to the previous films, like holy shit, tone down on the fanservice, God. This is why I don't like watching trailers and try to go into a film as blind as possible.

I still miss animatronic dinosaurs btw.

Well it's hinted in the Jurassic World movies that they know that these Dino's aren't what they should look like, but are created like that to appease tourists. They're mostly just hybrids of random ass animals that make them into "Dinosaurs" using Lizard/Frog DNA

A running theme since the original novel is they aren't real dinosaurs by any scientific definition. Ironically, it was III which finally addressed this.

Jurassic World was pretty meh. But dinosaurs are such an easy fucking sell for me so I'll still see this.

Jurassic Park 2: San Diego Boogaloo - Oh no, these bad people are trying to kidnap the dinosaurs from their habitat! We better stop these bad man with Vince Vaughn and Gymnastics!

Jurassic Park 5: Isla Sorna Sauna - Oh no, this bad volcano, which is part of the dino habitat is exploding! We better kidnap the dinosaurs with Tom Cruise running and Wacky Roller Balls!

All joking aside, if you like the series then more power to ya. I'll probably wait until I can stream this for free on Netflix or something.
