I could give less of a fuck about the shota fetish if they didn't have a history of chasing real little boys. Drawing anime smut is one thing, but actually stalking a 13 year old child crosses the line.
The comic feels like a total self-insert story. The main protagonist is some FtM Japanese boy who falls in love with a gay guy, it's the fantasy of being recognized as a ~*real gay guy and not a fujoshi*~ with an extra layer of weeabooism slathered on top.

Her blog specifically called "stickykale" is a nsfw blog and it is a fujoshi's dream, it already doesn't help that she brags about inclusivity at every opportunity, she has to make lots of porn and rants about said porn. Without trying to sound like a conspiracy theorist, I’m fairly sure a decent portion of tumblr fandom artists are pedophiles, or at least have pedo tendencies. I can’t really back that up with solid evidence but spend a while looking through these people’s blogs and you’ll see a pattern in their behavior, calling all their favorite characters “precious babies/boys” and obsessing with what they see as “innocent”. Most of the ones who actually draw pedo shit never get caught out because they keep it private but then we have dumbasses like Kale who broadcast it too the world.

And honestly, I'm not the least bit surprised. Keale's always been one of those chucklefucks who exemplified the absolute worst and most despicable aspects of yaoi fangirls circa 2006 - complete with sexually harassing real life people while cosplaying (though not always at cons) and having a seething hatred for other fangirls that at times was borederline misogyny - on top of being a perpetual jobless, spend-happy mooch with a victim complex. Going full troon to become a true and honest Gay Soft Boi UWU and get in on that sweet sweet Trans pity bux was the next logical step for Keale I suppose. And looking at some of these posts I found(that Game Grumps selfie) the only thing that's really different is the T.

The most telling bit from that Dramatica article is those chatlogs where Kale implies they were bullied in college for openly sharing their creepy shota art (lol what the fuck did you expect?) and because they were trans... but as far as I can tell, they've only been out as of 2014 at the very latest, when they were already out of college. Are you trying to imply that your classmates had the foresight to know you were going to troon out and decided to bully you preemptively? Are you sure you're not using your trans status as a convenient shield for easy pity points to cover up for the fact that you acted like a total cunt to everyone and frequently did cringey shit like role playing your Kingdom Hearts yaoi in public and would frequently steal from people both on and off line? Of course not, because that would mean that it was your fault somehow.

On a different note, what the fuck is it with these fucks and getting rabbits lately? Holy shit I've seen this guy at conventions. He sells in artists alleys and each time I've seen him at a con, he's slouched over looking depressed as shit each time with a CWC-esque vacant look in his eyes, like he'd rather be at home smoking weed drawing shota boys. His booth is trans themed, whole thing. Flag hanging over the table, blue-pink-white colour scheme, trans pins, most of his merch was just charms and pins and prints and body pillows of his own characters, and anything else was guy x guy fandom ship art or bara boobs.


I feel sick the further I read into the linked Twitter thread + ED page, guy always gave me generic horny motherfucker vibes but I never checked my socials often so I didn't catch just how horrid he is nor how much shit he got involved with.


I bought his comic a while back at a convention because I thought it looked cute based on the cover. I was expecting a shallow but cute story and wanted to support an independent artist.

In the back of it is a bunch of concept art that I didn't see on the site, including a page titled "birth of the characters" that shows off a horny sketch of the 1989 main characters with the comment "When I drew this image, I fell in love with these characters instantly, and wanted to do something more with them". He drew characters to get off to but wanted to monetize it and realised the best way to do that was to claim it was a comic about representation that had absolutely nothing at all to do with exploiting these characters for porn.

Concept art section's also got fat bara boobs, bunnysuit bulges, skintight suits, and other fun crossdressing and feminization of the older guy character, things which are typically seen as 'bad representation' and 'fetishizing' which Kale said would be avoided as quoted above. I can post pics of this stuff from my copy if there's interest but for now I'm putting this book back on my shelf.

Not sure what I'll do with the comic in the future though. The pages are uncoated so... firestarter maybe?

Hmm... In terms of convention stuff, not that I'm aware of. Conventions have been cancelled due to COVID, so he hasn't had the chance to sit and brood behind a table in full view of everyone.

Though he has been horny on Twitter recently and promo-ing their NSFW patreon a lot on it. Everything before his absence in 2018 was SFW with the occasional mildly suggestive bit of art, but they've done a complete 180 into being fully horny. He also draws a lot of "ojisan"s now, aka middle-aged japanese men. At least they're of age, eh Kale?

I just wanted cute trans rep and if I knew that the creator was this horny for these characters then I doubt I would've bought it. These characters were made for porn first and plot second as much as Kale tries to make you think otherwise on his storefront, kickstarters, and at his convention booths

This character is 'Jirou' from Kale's comic, who has a crush on Hide, is married, laments over the fact that he's never fucked a guy before, and who hasn't actually appeared in the comic yet. That doesn't stop Kale from pushing him around as 1989nk merch.

Remember, you can't fetishize anything asian if you're white, but Kale can!

They ran into financial troubles with their car back in September and asked for tips, while also posting about their BJD's and vintage anime crap that they could absolutely sell around the same time.

Their kickstarter for chapter 2 of their comic got backed, and their merch store is filled with random garbage half of which doesn't even have images yet and much of which is made in Chinese sweatshops. Can't resist the allure of cheap sweatshop labor, eh?

I want to know who is buying all of this merch especially given that there's not exactly a way to get convention pity-buys at the moment. The only thing we have to go off for these characters is a very short Chapter 1, which hits many of the 'yaoi/bl genre tropes' while also being a fujoshi weeaboo's 'otaku's idea of what Japan is [happy animeland].

The comic itself is nothing special. To sum up what I remember from a quick flip through the book..

Hiroki is a 24-year-old young-looking baby-faced anime fanboy who accidentally gets bumped by 39-year-old salaryman Hide on the train and Hiroki is immediately head-over-heels in love.
Two pages later, Hiroki is waiting in line to go to an anime screening and bumps into Hide again, and Hide immediately gets all blushy and and soft and uwu subby bottom~. While in line, Hide wins some production sketches and a photoshoot with someone dressed as the anime's main character... Then within 3 pages, Hide falls in love with Hiroki and 5 minutes later they're on a date, sitting together watching anime. Afterwards they exchange their names, Hide gives Hiroki the anime cels and leaves after Hiroki literally throws his number at him on a scrap of paper and... yeah that's the extent of their interactions at the moment.

The only trope this thing is subverting is the 'uwu soft trans boy baby bottom' trope by making the older man the submissive one. These characters have nothing apart from being a top and a bottom who both like anime.

Sidenote, it might be a good idea to have itsumoyume_bjd or itsumoyume added to the title of this post, as it seems like he's done a lot of customs before and that's their bjd insta name.

Really suspicious that he plays into the age gap between them. Maybe I'm stretching, but it doesn't help that Hiroki's eyes remind me a lot of his shota eyes post.

I've also noticed a slight resemblance between Hiroki and this shota character that Kale seemed to use as a mascot for his shota work, though again perhaps I'm reaching..

Seems suspicious when he likes portraying himself as an old man 'daddy' and has a history of drawing little boy porn, to then make a comic about an older man falling for a younger man with an immature and childish personality where half of the content he produces to do with the comic is... NSFW of the younger man. Doesn't help that there are in-universe mentions of Hiroki looking younger than he actually is, plus the 15 year difference between him and the 'oyaji'... This comic is just him thinly veiling his shota desires and the deeper I dig the more it shows.
