I'm cooking some kangaroo patties to put into burgers right now.
Ask me anything.

post patty pics before and after bunned please, kangaroo sounds delicious tbh, sadly they are very difficult to catch in Canada.Surprisingly, hardly anyone eats it here in Aus. It's extremely lean, essentially fat free and full of good vitamins.
Doesn't any decent sized grocery story in Australia sell kangaroo?Surprisingly, hardly anyone eats it here in Aus. It's extremely lean, essentially fat free and full of good vitamins.

I've seen it for sale in a few different supermarkets but it's not really popular for whatever reason. I think because it is quite lean, unlike steak, most people don't bother learning how to cook it well. I'd say it;s more a stew meat, as in it needs time to soft up. It's pretty good though and doesn't cause any allergies so it's a really good meat to have if you've got dietary issues. My dog has doesn't handle beef very well and some dog foods give her a bad skin rash on her tummy, but she can eat kangaroo and sweet potato no problem.Do you have to hunt kangaroos, or do places just sell kangaroo meat?
