Karen Research Thread - comparing our personal Karens to the Karen Archetype

Since the Karen meme came out, I have been thinking about people named Karen a lot. The only Karen I really knew was fucking insane. She was a bulimic lady who may have poisoned some people, but definitely poisoned a bunch of her pets. Her back yard was like a fucking pet cemetery. She went down to mexico to get speed without a prescription, back when that was much easier. She was also constantly packing heat and made it known at inappropriate moments. In short, she was a legend, I am pretty sure she is dead now.

There's a woman that is the head of one of the branches at my job named Karen, and nobody knows how she rose the ranks in the first place because she's dumb as fuck. Always calls IT for the same issues we've helped her with multiple times before, not to mention she get's impatient when nothing computer related works correctly for her and we're trying to fix it.

The only Karen I can think of in my life is like my second or third removed cousin, I don't know exactly, but the kind of cousin that's way older than you and only very distantly related. I met her a few times as a teenager and hated her. She had short dyed black hair, wrinkly gross skin from too much smoking, and was narcissistic as shit.

The whole family hated her but didn't have the guts to tell her or lay the law down with her. She'd left our Midwestern home town sometime back in the 50s or 60s and gotten in to some gay art shit and ended up as a college professor...when I first met her she was actually a prof at the same university Rhys McKinnon is now at but this was the 90s. Every-time she came back to visit it was like a whirlwind had hit our entire, large, extended family. She'd pick someone to stay with and throw her dirty clothes everywhere around the house, dirty panties on lamps and fans are one detail I remember but the kicker was that she would shit in to bags because she didn't want to use the toilets in our area. She also didn't want to drink the water and would demand bottled water which was less common back then.

She'd hold court in some restaurant and demand the entire family show up to listen to her stories of gay art she'd made and the famous faggots she'd encountered. We were like peasants to her and for months after we'd all talk shit about her. I don't know what happened to her but I'm guessing she's dead by now which is cool.

Every person I've known named Karen has actually been very kind and hilariously enough have been managers. Or at least held higher-up professional positions in education or city positions.

Before Karen became a proper thing, myself and my coworkers at my old retail job would call any Karen-like woman any boomer-esque name, I think we used Karen but also Diane, Susan, Janet June and Sharon amongst others for middle class 'Karens'. Working class Karen people were usually Pat, Liz, Magret, Debbie and Cathy.

A woman called Karen actually came in all the time who was actually a Karen. She would typically order stuff online, pick it up in store, try it on then have it refunded through the till. It would mess completely with our sales and footfall especially because if she wanted a different size or whatever she wouldn't exchange it in store and instead would try it on then reorder it online. If she did buy something in store, she would try and argue that it was faulty to get a discount. If we thanked her for pointing out the fault and offered her a fresh one from the stockroom she would refuse and order it online. We had an online ordering service in store which was relatively painless and gave you free delivery to any address (the website did not) but she always did it on her phone, right in front of us.

I knew het daughter from a uni society who was also total stuck up bitch and horrible to everyone who wasn't also a privately educated trust fund kid (she hid behind the quirky "Harry Potter fake nerd horse girl" persona). She used to boast about her daughter whilst looking down on me because I had to work. I recall once she made a snide comment about me working the weekend before exams and that she would never let her daughter work through university. Another time during summer she started to boast about how she paid for her daughter to go interrailling for two months.

Everyone else I know called Karen was/is absolutely fine and do not live up to their names at all.

My specific Karen was from a long time ago. I can't give much details without TMI like a sonofabitch, but let's just say the obese mess was a nasty cunt. Dripping vag gave me double vision.

The Karen I know(just an acquaintance) is sweet and is currently trying to pivot her area of expertise into a related field by taking supplementary classes and those classes are a GOD DAMN CULT! I swear to god, we're six months away from it becoming the sexual harem kind of cult, they're already doing a lot of enemas on themselves which is in no way related to her current or potentially future area of employment. I wish she would Karen up and ask for the manager of physical rehab education.
