I believe he actually set up an official discord not too long ago, after saying he wouldn't. He goes back on his word a lot, like when he accepted a sponsorship even after taking the piss out of sponsors and saying he would never do sponsorships in his videos. He's full of shit.
He never said he wouldn't take sponsors, he just demands to have full creative control over what he says in a sponsorship. Most big sponsors have a script that you have to run through that you tweak a bit to make it your own along with where to place the ad and where to put it in the video description. Since he's a huge control freak, he doesn't take them if he can't do them his way. He does tend to favor smaller companies, though that did lead to him bitching about people wanting to send him stuff during a pandemic, but happily taking merch from sponsors during that time.

What did he think was going to happen when he started posting this all publicly? A business matter is just that a business matter. If it was kept between him and the editor nothing would have come of this and he’d still be getting $500 for 20 minutes of work as he said.
