For somebody who's so passionate about HAES and healthcare and who seems to have such vast knowledge and experience in these matters, you'd expect her to be working in the healthcare system as a HAES-approved doctor. It's also striking how incredibly childish Kelly's attitude is here. Her vocabulary is more sophisticated than a toddler's, but the attitude expressed toward doctors here is otherwise identical to that of a toddler who thinks her pediatrician is the biggest evilest meanie-pants in the whole wide world, because the doctor always does terrible things like give the kid a painful shot, or make her swallow medicines that taste nasty. Except Kelly is even worse; not only is she more than old enough to know better, unlike a typical pediatric patient, but also, that child has actual legitimate complaints: needles really do hurt, and most medicines really do taste nasty. If you're a kid too young to understand "sometimes you do things because you have to, not because you want to," or even "this medicine tastes bad, but it's the only way to make you stop being sick," of course you're going dislike the doctor who inflicts pain and nasty tastes on you. But Kelly's complaints about stepping on a scale are entirely in her head.

She managed to make herself the victim when she ordered clothing without measuring herself properly. She makes herself the victim when businesses don't carrying clothing in size 10 Elephant. Here is my interpretation of her refusal:

It's not that Kelly cares about the number. Heavens, no! It's that when the medical staff knows her weight, this *irrelevant piece of information* will be part of her medical record. Her weight will then provide them with ammunition/excuses to label her as supermorbidly obese, and a cascade of interventions she doesn't want/hurt her feelings may be triggered. Once the label is applied, *everyone knows* the supermorbidly obese get substandard care. The doctor will blame all ailments on her weight.

So she won't participate in the medical-weight-industrial complex. Which is not the same as being refused health care.

It's hard to put myself in her mindset, so I could be wrong.

Honestly I think Kelly just gets her arse chapped because of the number on the scale. She’s like every other mega obese FA proponent: loud and proud on social media, but self-loathing in private.

Kelly doesn’t like looking like a giant melting plastic bag full of pudding any more than you or I might.

Also she’s a Narc and MUST force people to do things in an arbitrary way so she can feel superior and in control. I imagine the doctor’s is a scary place where her feelings and self-righteous posts mean nothing.
