I lost my big toenail on my right foot after backpacking for several days on gravel trails with incorrectly fitted boots. My toe, sans nail, looked NOTHING like that....the nailbed was still pink and healthy looking. Not a putrid stump....

I’ve never lost a toenail, but a quick google shows that for normal/healthy ppl, losing a toenail just makes the toe look . . . a little naked, but still very much a toe.
Also, that nail doesn’t seem to match that toe? I don’t think there usually is too much nail under the cuticle, and the actual nail bed seems pretty short. I’m not accusing her of stealing a toenail or something, but it just seems weird.

If you've ever watched The Toe Bro on YouTube, he's done removals of toenails that kind of look like wood because of severe fungal infections. That's what her nail and the nail bed look like to me. Mild PL, but I had an accident and lifted my big toenail off the bed partway. The doctor just cleaned it, squirted some antibiotic ointment under it and wrapped it. In a few days it really did fall off inside my sock and can confirm my toe looked pink and normal (but naked) and the nail grew back fine.

There's no way her nail is coming back normally, it looks infected and like part of her toe is gone.

If her toe was wrapped then that would account for why the nail bed looks as it does. It eventually hardens but straight after the nail falls off its soft because of any moisture that was under the nail before it was wrapped stays there.

Nail root is a couple of millimetres past the cuticle. Also normal people probably don't post gunky wound pics for the whole world to see.

Her toe is bleeding in the pic as well which it shouldn't have if it just fell off. When you take off a dead nail all the way back to the root it shouldn't bleed because its dead. She probably pulled at it before it was ready to fall off and made it bleed.

I had insomnia last night and ended up thinking about this munchie. About the drop foot thing specifically. I grabbed my foot and felt all around it then flexed and felt around the shin/calf area and it's the muscles/tendons right around and under the shin bone that control the foot. That's exactly the area that Kelly deliberately destroyed.

She will never walk again. Bitch did this to herself. Kelly, if you are reading this: was it really worth it for the pathetic amount of "attention" you got? To be crippled for life?

possible theory: could kelly have gone so quiet and vague in her posts because the amputation has already happened, and she's refusing to be public about it? i say this because:
1. she was posting about her toe just before she went quiet for a long time; could be an old pic
2. her other pics have been of her face (i.e. they could all be old)
3. she's been so vague in the text and sounds devastated about something; could just be the imminent prospect of amputation (or maybe her doctors just finally explicitly confronted her about munching, instead of hedging around it)
4. even though she'd want to attention-seek if the amputation *did* ever happen, i'm sure there there's an equally large (if not larger) part of her that would avoid publicly acknowledging it ever. she'd want to pretend it wasn't real. i mean, with the legs off, the game is up—who cares anymore?
caveat to this theory: surely if they'd taken them off she would've gone straight into psych for a longggg time without a phone. but a girl can hope

Was thinking the same things. But her comment about have "very upsetting" discussions with her doctors suggested to me that amputation is imminent. I think she is trying to figure out how to continue munching and is mentally totally fucked right now.

My guess is they've told her frankly they're onto her picking/carving hobby and they're going to yeet the legs then put her arms in casts or something so she can't fuck with the stumps. She's facing down the real prospect of no legs, lifelong disability, nothing to pick at and it being difficult to take selfies.
