it's the same surgeon/doctor posting it, so it has to be. it's on figure one as a follow-up to a previous case.
I'm assuming BKA means below knee amputation, right?

I watched her snap that nerve, I watched her legs turn to cheesy rot, but I stopped opening spoilers shortly after you could see through the leg and circulation became so poor it looks like she's sliding off her ankles and feet like oversized socks. I have a pretty strong stomach (neovaginas don't make me sick) but reading about her toe being folded under her foot... I didn't look and still felt sick. No thank you. Her supposedly still painting her toenails makes it twice as grotesque, too. Stumps would be way less disgusting but I bet she'll make the bone poke through again eventually.

Guess it's time to update that poll. Sepsis and forced amputation was only a matter of time.
I wouldn't jump the gun. having it scheduled and having it over with are two different things, especially with someone as non-compliant as this. fighting the doctors about it may be the "hard things (she's) going through"
This was just two years ago. Just to remind everyone of the beautiful skin grafts she peeled right off the second they healed.
Those grafts took so well, it’s so frustrating that she undid the work of the professionals involved (and her poor battered body’s attempts to heal). I wonder how her sister is taking this news? She knows what’s going on and who’s responsible but it must still be heartbreaking to see your (?twin) sister lose both her legs in her 30s.
I’m impressed that they’re still trying to save her knees; that’ll make prostheses much more flexible. I know it’s
but hopefully learning to regain mobility will give her something to do (and enough attention) that she lays off picking for long enough that her stumps heal. If you’re (still) reading Kelly, just think how much attention you’ll get if you return to ballet with prostheses; wouldn’t that be worth aiming for?
If they save her knees, she'll probably find a way to slide the patella's out to make little hats for Chompy.

I wonder if Kelly has at all had a rare moment of clarity and regrets how far she has pushed this now that her legs are going to be lopped off below the knees... Wait, what am I saying? She is probably wriggling about in her hospital bed in barely restrained glee right now as she edits tears into the filtered selfies that she’ll post on IG to announce the news of her surgery because she knows that she’ll be able to get tons of sympathetic looks and asspats from others when she goes out in public hobbling on her prosthetics (especially since it’s a much more appealing sight & visible disability than her bandaged legs and dropped feet).
I’m calling it now: The next saga of IG posts will involve videos of herself flexing and stretching in unnecessary and overexpending ways (like doing pliés) in the in-patient physical therapy wing of the hospital while wearing tiny shorts that were deliberately chosen to showcase the site of her double amputation. Kelly will wax on and on about how despite how her ‘promising career as a ballerina was tragically cut short’ due to her illnesses, she will not stop fighting and her ‘new disabilities have not stopped [her] from courageously attempting to relearn ballet’.
I wonder how long it will take before the rush of attention and sympathy wears off and she restarts this process on her thighs...

There's an app where professionals can consult one another on cases. Someone spotted a post about Kelly earlier because how many people have massive gaping wounds on their legs etc etc. So I assume it's the same doctor, or at least the same app. Face it, how many people are getting bilateral above the knee, are septic, and need 'accommodation' for wound care?

Some people above have said that cuddle striker is involved in the case, but as posted above, there are apps where medical professionals post their difficult cases for the interest of others, and also advice. Because medical stuff is a fascination of mine I have a couple of these apps that I got years ago. Now some no longer allow non-med people on, but I got one app so early that I’m grandfathered in. (I also don’t post-and think I am now not allowed to post as a layman). I’m sure there are dozens of these apps and our kiwi may be thousands of miles away from Kelly and has never treated her.
If you are squeamish about Kelly don’t look for these apps. There are as equally awful things in them - women who ignored breast cancer so long their breast is eaten away from disease, homeless people with diabetes and have septic feet with bugs in it, burns, and saddest , children injured or diseased. It’s all written in medicalese so you need to be able to read that, which isn’t hard but you have to remember a word that sounds like something you know has a different meaning to doctors sometimes. Gross, for example, does not mean disgusting.

I can look at anything. Kelly’s injuries don’t phase me, even the nerve thing. What would bother me is any smell. It’s why I’m not in the medical field-certain smells make me just vomit. Just going into a colonoscopy clinic makes me ill. I don’t know how Infectious disease specialists, pathologists, or gastroenterologists can do their job.
Kelly will probably get prosthetics if she allows the amputation, but being a munchie, I think a wheelchair will be higher visibility. She can join a service dog group, decorate her chair, and probably cause herself sores from never moving positions. It’s not all bad, maybe her doctor should approach it like she’ll be poor disabled girl who will get lots of attention and to prepare herself-then she’ll go for it.

Sepsis is extremely serious and can kill a person in under 12 hours. My guess is that she went septic, got rushed to the ER, and was immediately scheduled for amputation. It's probably already been done, which would explain why we've heard nothing from Kelly in a long time. If the septic shock happened suddenly, the EMT's would not bother grabbing her phone for her, so she may be in the ICU w/out her phone.
