Can't wait to play it. First thing that comes to mind is the ear rape when launching a big rocket.

I'm really wondering what it'll do graphics-wise, how it'll differ from the original game and what new stuff it will have to offer.
I assume there will be a strong focus on station and base building, the question is whether it'll be different enough to warrant a new game or if they couldn't have done it as DLC.
Space stations, surface bases and rovers have been notoriously useless in KSP, so I do hope they'll have a decent idea to change that.
Will be interesting to see if this is a new engine and what they'll do about Mod-Support.

What features would you like to have?
I personally would like to see life support mechanics, ISRU being expanded to be able to build stuff on different planets/in orbit and some more options in crew management.
A bit more variety and customization with parts would be nice, too. I never understood why KSP doesn't just have tanks in different shapes and the player can then choose what they contain - ie: you have 1 MK2 fuselage and you can choose whether it's a LF/LOx tank, a liquid fuel tank or a Monoprop tank, instead of having 3 different tanks with the same shape but different contents clog up the parts menu.

Oftentimes, I'd love to use a version of this tank:

With only liquid fuel, but I have to choose and either use a different tank altogether (which usually doesn't look as nice) or I just ditch the useless oxidizer (which has a shitty form-factor, considering I am wasting "half the part" being empty.

I can't wait to miss out on the game's initial rush then pay $30 for it. Woo!

Welp, time to play some more of that beautiful "Sending Little Green Guys to Hell" game. For real though, the cinematic trailer is based off of the Build Fly Dream fan-trailer. I love the idea of the community making a game great, to the point where the developers essentially 'remix' and update an old fan-trailer, even going so far as to thank the creator of the original and get his permission before doing it. The brilliant part is that in the original trailer, the crowning moment is a robot landing on some distant world. In the new trailer, it's a rocket landing on the same distant world, with a colony built atop it. That's fucking brilliant.

There are some screen shots up on the Steam page, and it looks exactly like what you would expect. Everything has a smoother look as well as a new shine in general. Looks like still no clouds though from the few shots that are up. Looking forward to dumping another 1000 hours into this. Hopefully they actually have an idea of what they want to do this time around, and hopefully multiplayer is actually interesting.

More than base building I want them to move away from Unity. That engine has always been a curse on KSP with it's endless performance bottlenecks and limitations.

I have some optimism for this. KSP first early access release was way back in 2011. Building from the ground up with new unity updates would be good.

The things they have planned dont think would work well in the current KSP framework with large basebuilding and larger ships and other solar systems.

Does this mean I get to build a higher quality version of Space Station A-1?

You know I always kind of figured that Kerbel would be one of those games that would never get a sequel and just be updated regularly or get DLC expansions, certainly not a bad thing in the slightest to see a sequel mind you, just very surprised by it.

I already hate that C:S is a buggy, crash-prone POS because of this god damn engine. It's a good city sim, but god damn the thing crashes a lot (especially with lots of plugins).

Here's hoping for softbody physics lol.

It would be cool if they added a size option when creating a new game, so you can choose your solar system scale. The first game had a 10:1 scale, which I felt was too small. People who still want to play like that can have the option to do so, but adding a 5:1, 2:1, and 1:1 option in the start menu would be neato.

lmfao

if it at least was built in a different/in-house engine, it would have been worthy of some attention. if it's made in the same limited piece of shit then why are they even making a sequel? oh, right, so that take-two interactive can charge you more money for the same shit. looks like they are not just going to pump KSP full of DLC and are taking a more subtle approach instead, presumably copy and pasting most of the poorly written code from KSP to save on time.

still, at the end of the day, even if it were going to be a good game, I still wouldn't give any money to take-two interactive. especially given that their software installs malware on your computer.
