THIS cannot be overstated. Minor power level and sperg out, but I have a friend who sells chainmail as a side buisness, and she will only buy from wholesalers that are very consistent in the ring gauges and diameters, otherwise it fucks up whatever it is she is making and the entire project becomes ruined because as she adds on to the peices, the "weave" of the chain links gets too tight or loose.

I know it's a completely different medium, but I'm sure the same holds true with using a certain knitting needle diameter for a project, buying yarn of a certain thickness, and there being great inconsistencies causing gaps like in the photos shown.

Something I've always wondered was how the queer grifting ring worked. It seems like it's the same money just getting passed around since they all donate to each other and all complain about being broke and unable to work. Surely they aren't roping in enough new marks to be profitable? I took a cursory look at the tranch's Etsy store. It looks like comparable or better Alpaca and Alpaca/Wool blend yarns are available cheaper. Their inventory and variety both are minimal most of what they offer are blends and other sellers list the % of wool where the tranchers do not. You can get high quality Peruvian or domestic boutique Alpaca yarn for less.
